My BP had his first rat friday, and hasnt came out of his hide.

Re: What do you think
I think he's digesting and isn't an animal that typically leaves his hide a lot...?

Re: What do you think
He is very active, thats why i was wondering what you all might think. In 3 days he might have only been out 10-15 min. But with that being said is this sumthin that will happen with him eating his first rat?

Re: What do you think
I would be worried if your BP has been active.
An over active snake in this situation might be one that wasn't being fed enough and was looking for more food.
A happy bp is a hiding BP. I only see my snakes being active on feeding day right before I give them dinner.

Re: What do you think
When i got him i was told to feed him very other week, but we feed every week, and after 3 weeks of that we went from large mice so small rats?

Re: What do you think
Usually when snakes have a meal they will stay in their hide until they digest it. Sometimes when a snake has a large meal it will go into shed. So either can be the cause. Possibly both. When snakes are in shed they won't really come out of their hides and try to sleep throughout the entire process until the day of the shed.

Re: What do you think
Sounds like he's acting like a normal settled ball python should be acting.

Re: What do you think
You said very active. That might be something we can also help with (since that is not normal, unstressed behavior).
What are your temps/humidty like? Hides? Sides and back of tank covered?

How old/big is the snake? A weight measurement in grams would be useful :)
