Re: Anyone shoot shotguns?
I don't have one but my friends uncle does. Its like shooing a double barrel with 3 inch slugs in each chamber and shooting them at the same time. Not really too bad....But I wouldn't shoot it more than a few times a day. Went out shooting his 416 rigby a few weeks back. That things awesome.
Re: Anyone shoot shotguns?
well if you shoot it all day youll for sure be sore...but its not that bad a few times.

That was going to be my next question.. Any ballpark figures on $ cost trigger pull on a 10-gauge vs. a 12-gauge right now? I know ammo prices can be as volatile as gasoline.
Re: Anyone shoot shotguns?
Shotgun shells usually are not really pricey, depending on gauge and type. I usually buy it by the case on sale at walmart or Gander Mountain.
10-gauges really vary from gun to gun. Some will kick you hard, some won't be much worse than a nasty 12-gauge. The big thing is pulling them really snug into your shoulder. For me, I have to put a pad on my shoulder in between me and the butt, because I lack the natural padding there, and bruise the bone too badly on the kickers.
I just found a new source of reloaded ammo for the rifles/pistols. Shotgun shells, just buy a couple cases when turkey season starts, and you'll find good sales.
