Run it under the tap! They don't like that. Or, rubbing alcohol- like maybe that hand sanitizing gel, put that near its nose. I haven't ever had this happen, but that's what I am told works.

Take both sides of the back of the head (as if you are securing the head of the snake) and with your finger gently push the snake's head forward, then up. Since their teeth are curved backwards, this helps prevent your skin from ripping and snake teeth left in your skin.

slide a butterknife betwee nth eeeth and yout skind with the blade edge facing away from the snake. Thiss allows the teeth to come out with outdamaging them and works t omake sure that they all higer than the skind ( takes 2 knives and a 3rd arm at times and does not injure or freak the snake out more like water and other metodes can cause.

Start from the tail and unwind them if need be. Usually by the time they're unwound they let go.
Or just wait until they're done. I used to have a HUGE male Candoia (huge for male candoia's anyway) that was completely docile until you tried to unwrap him from whatever perch he was on. Most painful snake bite i've had, because he just kept at it, wiggling his teeth deeper. He was one where you just had to go for the ride and let him finish.

seriously? Is this really what you do? It sounds like that's a good way to break teeth. Does it work?

Why would you wanna unlatch it? He's just showing you he loves you with a quick kiss! Love is pain man, love is pain.

Actually, what Derrick posted above is what I do. I would rather not risk injuring the snake further for my mistake. They will usually let go within 5 minutes. The longest I had one stay on is 15 minutes.
Re: How do you remove your ball python when it nails you?
I heard that Listerine works but i dont know how healty for your snake that would be
Re: How do you remove your ball python when it nails you?
Just pinch the side of his head and push his jaws open. When he tries to release push forward so his teeth come out easily. Dont want to hurt the little guy.
Or you can just do like me. SCREAM LIKE A GIRL and Yell for your wife to come save you.

I had my male spider mistake my pinky finger for a rat pup and latched on and started constricting my hand:O
After I got over the fright I ran his head under warm water for about 30 seconds, he then got the message and let go.:gj:

Brown Listerine is used to clean out mouths when snakes get RIs, so it is perfectly safe and has lots of uses for reptiles! It cleans a snake that decided to make a mess of himself, and will also get a snake to unlatch (many have Listerine around for big snakes if something were to happen).

Aww..All she was doing was showing she loved ya! lol...Besides..you know you liked it..lol
Re: How do you remove your ball python when it nails you?
Running their heads under warm water has never failed to work for me, with balls or any other species. Make it warm enough that you can feel the warmth (warmer than skin temperature, in other words) but not hot; for some reason cold doesn't seem to work as well.
Re: How do you remove your ball python when it nails you?
I myself have been victim to a snake latching on to me when feeding day has gone a little wrong for me.
They are not going to hold on forever, just wait until they let go. It shouldnt be more than 5-10 minutes. My girl (She was a 600-800 gram spider...no small hatchling) held on for about 4 minutes without finally realizing I wasnt the mouse I has just dropped into her cage.

VERY CAREFULLY!
SORRY JUST HAD TOO!
Re: How do you remove your ball python when it nails you?
The one time it's happened to me (so far), I ran her head under warm tap water. She let go in a few seconds.
