    How to measure a snake?
So I want to measure my girl so I know how long she is, as well as her weight. How do I go about measuring her? I dont want to hurt her, nor so I want to freak her out. She is very used to being handled, but im not sure if I would pull her straight or just wait till she kinda straightens out or what? Any help would be appreaciated :)

I take a string or a doggie leash or something and put it by the snake, mark the end, and then straighten out the string and measure that :)

    Hi,

There is also a comp program that will let you measure the snake if you get a nice top down photo with something of known length in the pic for refference.

Measure lines about 1' apart on your wall (user paper) and let your snake slide along the wall and take a picture.

I use the snake measurer software as well and it works great.

I'd not recommend using the shed skin as a measure, the shed stretches when it comes off the snake and can be quite a bit longer than the actual length:gj:

I can't believe nobody has said anything yet about Snout Vent Length. Did I miss it?

    Hi,

Well in BP's that's rarely more than 3 inches or so different than snout to tail tip. :D
