Debating on whether snakes are cute or not..

So today I was talking to my sister while handling my BP. I kept asking her if my BP looked cute and she said, "It's a snake. Snakes aren't cute." And I said, "Ya they are, you just don't like them.. even though you owned one before and you are in a house with 6 of them." So I want to hear from you guys, are snakes cute? Or not? Do they gross you out, scare you? Or do they make you fall in love with them, and think they are adorable? I think they are SO adorable, especially the BPs. What do you guys think? Are snakes cute, or gross?

i dont often use the word "cute" but they are much more "cute" then gross.... id say...beautiful. or amazing.

She doesn't even think they are pretty, beautiful, amazing, or anything. She doesn't like them for some reason.. but she's owned one before. Just when I look at their faces they seem so cute to me xD

There is no denying the cuteness of western hognose snakes, especially hatchlings. Especially PINK hatchlings.

There is a wide range of whether or not a certain snake is cute. There are beautiful snakes, cute snakes, elegant snakes, colorful snakes, bland snakes, boring snakes, and I'm sure that someone could find an ugly snake though I don't think I have ever seen one.

me either, ive never seen one i didnt love to look at.

I agree, especially hoggies and Bps. Super cute little faces. Not all snakes are cute, but they are all extraordinary creatures and beautiful to look at.

There are some snakes that their head kinda freaks me out... but overall I think snakes are cute wittle things!!!!

I think ball pythons especially just have the cutest shape to their face and head - kind of like snake puppies. :giggle:

I think baby snakes are adorable!!

Our JCP baby, named Floyd, is soooo cute! :) And my BRB is definitely beautiful. Even snake haters think so.

All baby snakes are cute, especially bps. Some snakes are cuter than others. Jcps are always cute right into adulthood, I love thier face's.

It took a while for my girlfriend to warm up to their looks. But once she first saw my bp yawn, there was no way to deny their cuteness.

I would have to say the BP is the cutest snake out there in my opinion!! I dont find the snakes that have no good definition between their heads and body quite "as cute" but they still count as cute in my book!

How can this face not be cute?

I say adorable. Especially when they roll up in a little ball. I can't get enough of them.

There's no word other than cute to describe how my rosy boa's nose slightly upturns when she flicks her tongue. Her inquisitive nature adds to the cuteness too imo ;)

I dont know, but when I get home from work or whatever else and pick up little Julieta and she does things like this... It's just awesome :D

I just like snakes, not realy into other exotics. I love black labs. I always wanted a Boa but they were too big and I was always afraid for my dog and the little babies in the house. I just found out about BP recently, and now i own 2 in less then a month lol. Normal Female and today, a Pastel Male :D. Plaining to get a spider female when I get some extra money =)

If you were to ask me this a couple years back I would have said the same thing. Snakes are snakes they aren't cute. I would even say they scared me a little or a lot. LoL. But my BF had one when we got together and we now have 11. So they HAVE grown on me. The only reason I didn't think they were cute was because I had never held one or seen one in person. I think they are adorable now even though my BF would never admit they were cute (Macho thing I guess, he says they're awesome). They still scare me a little only because I don't want to get bit but I'm told it will happen sooner or later. But I do think snakes are cute, adorable, beautiful, amazing creatures.

WOW you all read that right... My girlfriend JUST admitted that. I am glad I have that in writing, well typing.

But in all serious I love all reptiles and there all "cute"

Personally, only BPs are cute to me. Bloods are beautiful, Sunglow RTBs are GORGEOUS, Burms are elegant, corn snakes are evil. Hoggies are borderline cute, but there's no denying a Ball [pup]python's cuteness.

January 3rd I finally convinced my wife into letting me get a bp. July 1st same year 2009 we now have 26 bps in the house. My wife went from deathly afraid of snakes, to taking pictures of them outside, coming down to the racks and pulling a few of them she is comfortable with out on her own. The albino I purchased for her is named.......PrettyGirl.....she talks to them as if they are little kids............Ahhhhh look at her sweepy sweeping in her hide.........I thirsty I need some fresh water for dwinky dwinks. I dont even know who this woman is anymore lol. Last night I was holding Nibbles a spider ball in the chair and the bp was looking at me from a foot away and my wife talked for the spider and said.......Daddy look at me I'm cute.......

If my wife thinks they are cute they must be? lol

I have to admit, I talk to our bp's like small children also. I can't help it, they're just so cute!! And their personalities are so different, which non-snake people don't understand.

"Cute" is definitely in the eye of the beholder. My hubby is of that group that says, "It's a snake...snakes aren't cute!" No matter how much evidence to the contrary. :P Personally, I think BP's are adorable, and many other snake species can qualify as "cute" as well.

But my daughter sees stuff all the time and says, "OH! Isn't that the CUTEST???" And I'm like, "Huh?? Cute? If you say so...." :rolleyes: Her definition of "cute" and mine differ a lot. (She also thinks BP's are adorable, though!) She's just got a much broader range of what should be considered cute. So I can understand that some people just won't see it that way. Even folks that admire and enjoy snakes might not always be someone that considers them "cute".

It doesn't bother me if someone else doesn't get the "cute" factor....but you can definitely include ME in the "cute camp!"

Hi ...I am new at posting on here ..but have been reading for several months... I definitely think there are cute snakes.... ball pythons..yes...and I love all the babies...pretty much.... I think my thayeri kingsnake Jasper is very cute... I told my daughter he was cute...she said "snakes couldnt be cute...babies are cute..puppies and kitties are cute " I just laughed...!!! It is definitely in the eye of the beholder!!! But when I took him to a local pet store..this little old lady who had never touched a snake in her life came right up to him...and wanted to touch him!!!!! So I think thats a vote for cuteness...

Snakes are no doubt cute. If you notice the mouth of a snake (BP's especially) carry an adorible ':3' face. Makes me want to die from all the cute overload.

I wouldn't say all snakes are cute, BPs are cute, babies are cute, most colubrids and other smaller snakes are cute, the bigger ones, at least in my opinion would tend to be 'pretty', 'beautiful' 'elegant' 'impressive' etc. I've never seen an ugly snake. I've seen snakes that I thought looked a touch grumpy, I've seen snakes whose colours or patterns were not my favorite, but never a really ugly one.

Baby ball pythons are especially cute, partially because they're little and have adorable BP faces, and partially because they have that sort of sheen to their scales so they are quite literally shiny and new!

Any snake with a stubby tail also gets extra cuteness points, its just so cute when they try to wrap their tiny tails around something, and it totally doesn't reach, because its too stubby, and they have to use their whole bodies, that's even cute on really huge snakes. :)

I think my 10 month old BP is just adorable. BPs in general are just cute, IMO. I also agree with the comment about them having the :3 face. They totally do :D

I think a lot of the reason we all find them so cute is getting to know their quirks and personalities. Someone who doesn't own snakes, or has had bad experiences with them would never understand that. I even fostered a big (somewhat agressive) female BCI for a while, that I got really attached to, and I even thought she had her cute moments. But I love all snakes :)

That being said..
I live with 2 roommates who are freaked out by my snake. One refuses to hold her (not that I have ever forced the issue), and the other will "flip out" if she even SEES her (and she has gone out of her way to make sure she hasn't yet) :rolleyes:

Its all depending on how your head works. There's people that say Spiders are cute or fish are cute. To me cats,dogs and all reptiles have their moments of being cute and EXTREMELY fascinating.

omg, i saw a BEL in a picture, and i noticed it had BIG blue eyes, and a cute head. it appeared to be looking up like a lost puppy.... those were my exact words xD
