Very nice. I like how the super pastel Crystal has a slight to no pattern on it as a hatchling. Will the pattern come out more as it gets older?

There aren't any super pastel crystals there. I think you mean the pastel Super Special which is homozygous for the 'special' gene, but only a normal pastel (heterozygous for the pastel gene)

But whatever you call it, it's great.

Well You have to get a special from Baker which he wouldn't give up for cheap. He is still the only person to produce them although I believe someone else tried with no success. I am sure Baker will not give up his secret all that easy. Even though i'm sure it involve a toad, dead cat in a sack, and running around your house at night several times. lol.

I believe it has already been stated that the crystal is a mojo x special, but perhaps I'm mistaken.

Thanks Everyone! I appreciate the comments!
A Crystal is a cross between a Mojave and a Special. There has not been a Super Pastel Crystal produced yet, but possibly later in the season.
    Chris (sg1trogdor),
Besides myself and BHB, I dont think I have heard of anyone producing a Crystal yet... But, there are a few people working with the gene and will probably see a few this year. Currently Specials and some Special crosses have been produced by a couple other people!
Specials have been put online (by others) so it is no longer much of a secret and I feel like I can post photos with out hurting the first people to invest in this project...
Here is the Original Special female sitting on eggs a couple months back!

You know what I LOOOVE about the Crystals?

We share a lot in common. They are beautiful...and we have the same name. Haha

But really, they almost make me think they would be creepy in the dark.

But very beautiful snakes you have there!

So are the "specials" just another member of the mojo/lesser/butter/het russo complex? Have you tried special x lesser or butter or het russo?

I think that the crystals are probably my favorite bp morph.

    BlueApplePaste,
BHB has produced a Lesser Crystal, but I have not tried any of those yet. I would like to shoot for a Killer Bee Butter Crystal! Now that would be insane! I just need to get the Pastel Butter Spider now!:(

Thanks for the reply! So then I'm assuming that the "special" is in fact just another member of the mojo/lesser/butter/etc family (only obviously a little different in the super form)?

It does seem that it is another part of the BEL complex only with an orange colored Super and a crazy cross when mixed with others!

Im still thinking about that one! Over and over and over and over and over and over!:)

I had the pleasure of hanging out with Tom last week after the SD Reptile Show and although all my photos sucked here is a comparison shot of a 09 Crystal and its Mother I believe she is the original female but Tom would have to clarify that.
