she is the animal that i did a thread on about a week ago that will only eat mice, so her meals are like 3 med mice at a time.

    Hi,

If she laid already this year then I am fairly sure she can't be gravid again.

She might have retained one of the eggs which is causing a blockage but the time since she laid ( about 74 days I'm guessing ? ) might also make that unlikely.

I did have something similar happen to one of my girls a while ago.

Is the mass kind of soft and mobile when you lift her?

thats the thing there is no mass that i can find, and if she had a retained egg i would feel it i think but im keeping a close eye on her. thanks.

    Hi,

I'm sorry for not being clearer. I didn't mean a solid mass as such - simply the swelling in general.

If you pick her up by the tail and close to the front third of her body and tilt her so that her head is higher than her tail then the other way round does the swelling move?

Natasha was mainly full of pee and it was quite mobile.

I have, on very rare occasion, caught non-gravid snakes that were opaque basking inverted--and usually with a spilled water bowl. I think they're trying to wet down their back. It's extremely uncommon, and I wouldn't think much of it unless it keeps happening.
