    New corn
I just got this corn snake a few days ago... it is about 4 years old and 3.5 feet long... they think it is a girl
I was wondering if any one could tell me what morph/ kind of corn this is? I am not able to take a pic of her belly but she has yellow up close to the head and like a red brick pattern down the other half.

    Thanks for your help...

She looks just like my albino corn snake. Down to the slight yellowing on the sides and red eyes

On my monitor, it doesn't look white enough to call it a candycane.

Just in case anyone is confused by the "different" answers on this thread so far, albino and amel or amelanistic are just 2 different words for the same thing. Sometimes it is also called red albino. I see albino or red albino more at pet stores or with people that don't know much about snakes, and amel more on the snake forums and at reptile shows.

Also, candycane is just a selectively bred amel to be as close to pure white inbetween the red spots as possible.

I'm saying Amel, since my corn is Amel and is basically a mirror image when it comes to coloring.

I have to say she is so friendly I am amazed. Most of my other snakes take a long time to settle down and like watch a movie with me... I have had her for just over 5 days today and last night she watched a whole movie on my shoulders and I had to chase her only once! I hope to breed one day!

Definitely an amel (doesn't qualify for a CC). She looks great!

And corns (for the most part!) are absolute sweethearts. Congrats on the pick up.

Check your hotspot and make sure it's not overheating.

I wonder if that is possible ... I am learning all about snakes and loving it! Before we got her she lived in a 55 gal tank with no heat pad and no heat lamp! so the lamp could be throwing her off maybe? though it is only a 50 watt cause i didnt want to cook her with a 75 watt... LOL though temping it will have to wait till my bf gets back from Fairbanks cause i cant walk in the room with out her coiling up and striking! so there is no way i am going to try and remove her with out another adult... i am not worried she will kill me but i like to be safe lol I was thinking of dropping a couple mice but she just ate on saturday! the people b4 us fed her only every 2 wks and only one mouse so i wonder if i upset her by feeding 3 on saturday!

If it is the heat and she's acting like that you should probably just unplug whatever you're using.

Do you have a tempgun or thermometer?

Is the light the only source of heat? If so, did you measure directly under the bulb where it will be hottest?

Have you checked her for mites?

    Re: New corn
ya i measured directly under the heat where she would lay... and i have never seen mites but i understand they are red and you will notice them... but i havent seen anything on her around her. The owner b4 kept her in pine and my understanding is that is bad for them... i did hear a slight weeze (or that is what it sounded like) every so often last night... but nothing coming from her nose and she is active clean mouth eyes and everything else....
(she is in a diff room than my other snakes and i dont touch her then them to avoid any spreading of anything)
after reading another thread what is the poss this is all the stress of moving...

    Re: New corn
It might be fear or stress from being moved but I doubt that.

Maybe she's going into shed, perhaps a perfume or soap you use is irritating to her. Without actually being there it's tough to say.

Don't let her intimidate you and you guys should be fine.

That's too warm for a corn snake. Aim for 80-82. So maybe raise the lamp some, though I'd ditch it in favor of a UTH with a t-stat. Lamps can really dry out the tank which can cause problems when they shed.

So we took her out to feed last night and when we were holding her she was sweet and didn't even act like she was going to bite but as soon as we put her down in the feed box she acted like she was going to bite... We used a towel over her head to pick her up and once she was up she was fine!
