I'm not much of an Obama fan...but I'm danged impressed that he smushed a fly with his hand. :D Whoever it was at PETA that came up with that press release has waayyyy too much time on their hands and not enough serious concerns in their life. I wish my life were so carefree that I could afford to be that concerned about a fly.

I really hope they weren't too serious and were just trying to get a little press. If not, then you're certainly correct about having too much time on their hands and their priorities are a little skewed. I can think of a few more pressing animal related issues going on in this world than swatting a fly.

I would love to take a group of the top PETA people and put them in a hot room with a bunch of flies, and no way to "Humanely catch them", and see how long until they start swatting. ;)

Re: Most ridiculous story of the year award goes to...
I already heard the buzz about this story.
Ridiculous PETA people just looking for headlines. It's all part of their PR to make serious animal enthusiasts NOT take them seriously. When you think of PETA, most people roll their eyes dismissively and go "Oh those wackos". They are actually a VERY dangerous well-funded group. When they put up a bunch of these stupid penny-ante stories, watch your back. They're probably gearing up for some HR669 type legislation while we're not looking.

Have you pointed out to her that the broad in charge of peta would be dead right now were it not for her hypocrisy?
She is alive only because of testing done on animals.
Oh, testing and her willingness to use the results of those tests on herself while publicly stating that the very tests upon which she herself was granted life, are wrong for anyone else.
That's one broad I would shed no tears over were she found on the business end of a woodchipper.

No offense intended. I love a hippy as long as they are intelligent, clean and well groomed.....
I believe modern day hippies are called "crunchies" now, right? Or is it "granolas"? It's been so long since I lived in Colorado, I can't remember.:D
