Great odds-Caramel Albino

Nice sight when I cracked open this tub early this morning. Caramel Albino X Het-4 Caramels, 2 hets!

Yes, it does look like a pastel, but there were no pastel parents involved on either side-though the Caramel male is one of the nicest Caramels I've seen-very light-colored.

and then started to look for pastel caramels...and then reread what was bred, and then just guessed he was in there for looks :P Tricked me though because he is with them on the eggs.

I know its not my clutch but without doubt that is a pastel. Ive never seen a normal with blushing like that. Wheres the other het? Anychance this is a double sired clutch? could you take some more pictures of the snake in question?

Never thought id see a clutch of caramels and be more interested in the hets/pastel.

Honestly, I hardly glanced at that het when I was setting them up today:oops:

I'll take pics of it tomorrow and post them-maybe our "super light" male Caramel is actually a pastel caramel??

You know what...on second thought hes not. And I know how hard it is to sell het males...why dont I take him off your hands? :D

Yea thats a Pastel..And by the looks of at least one of the caramels it looks to have pastel in it too..

You folks are right on-on further examination this morning that snake is indeed a pastel! I always thought our Caramel was a lot nicer looking than those I see on the net. What a stroke of luck:D

That's crazy!! :O I've been seeing more and more surprise clutches lately. How exiting! You have to post more pics of the babies after they shed and the sire. I'd love to see a pastel caramel.

Curiouser and curiouser. I have been emailing the guy we got these snakes from. He says that he produced the male Caramel from the het male adult and 66% het female that we also got from him. The female is definitely to all appearances a normal-looking female. The male is "odd" looking, but it would be hard to call him a pastel-if anything he looks a bit like a "black pastel". his belly is clear.

I forgot my camera today-but tomorrow I intend to take pics of all protagonists in this drama and post them for your comments (the baby pastel of course is now opaque-but you can still see that he is a definite pastel)....

They are gorgeous! Congrats! Can't wait to see more pics of the lil beauties. :D
