is this egg ok????

ok out of 10 eggs this one just looks a little off to me. if you see my other thread all the others are nice and clear looking but this one is not at all. it is still alive and i have misted it to keep it from drying out. help please.

Something doesn't look right to me. You say it's alive?

What day are they on? If the veins haven't pulled back, doesn't that mean they're not ready?

Without much info to go on this would be my guess.

A. You cut them too early for one.
B. That looks like a egg that has been cut open for at least a week. When you cut early the fluid will get cloudy and goopy on top. Get a Q-tip and gently try and get the white goop off the top.
C. Those eggs have at least another week to go.

they are on day 53 i cut on day 52. the other 9 look perfect. it has only been cut like 24 hours and all the others look like these. i was told by several people here that it is perfectly safe to cut at 52.

i would hate to loose this little guy. so please someone help. thanks all for any advice yall have given.

Could be a deformed little guy I hate to say it but you may have to cull. Hopefully its ok though. Well best of luck and keep us posted.

with out looking at it in person..its either deformed or thats its yolk pushed up over the body..

Looking a bit closer it looks as though the yolk has gotten into a funny place.. leave it be..theres really nothing to do at this point but to keep a close eye on it ..If it is the yolk you may have to make sure it doesn't tangle the snake and kill it..

it is the yolk to the right side of the egg, and it has rolled a little since this pic but what about the odd color?

Is the membrane broken on that guy? If it's not, I would break it. Poke around VERY gently, and see if the umbilicus is twisted around the baby. If it is, I did take a baby last year completely out of the egg, untwist it, and put him back in.

I'm trying to remember where I saw someone who took a baby completely out of the egg and line a small bowl the size of an egg with damp paper towel and allowed him to absorb his yolk in this bowl. He stayed in that bowl until the yolk was absorbed, much like he would do in the egg.

Unfortunately, some babies just aren't meant to make it, for whatever reason.

thanks so much i did just what you said i went in and the membrane was not cut and when i cut it he immediately look much better but it looked like the umbilicus was like around his neck, so i had to get my wife to go in with her tiny fingers and pull the head out, i hope this helped him he is in his egg and i misted him so crossed fingers here.

ahhh... thats better! It is probably just the picture but what is that funny looking spot in his stripe towards his neck? LOL, with the glare it almost looks like another eye!

lol i think its a bubble but that would be weird a 3 eyed snake.

he is looking much better today but he is still just chilling in the egg.

I'm so glad that he's looking better and doing better! Keep an eye on that yolk to make sure he's absorbing it, if you can. He'll come out when he's ready! Cute little thing! :D
