what a charming looker for a normal but idont think shehas much up in the head.

last night i fed her and she struck and missed 3 times at the mouse who was cleaning it's self sitting still. once she had it she kep biting it, not constricting it for a while and then she killed it. wandered off a bit until i moved it and then she just sat there holding it and trying to eat it from the side.

I fear my wonderfull looking esther, just may not be the sharpest pencil around :please:

nah they all do this on occasion. when i got my bp i was feeding him 2-3 hoppers before making the jump to rats. and he would regularity swallow one cockeyed, sideways or what ever els you want to call it. as the prey size increases they will be a lil more careful how they cram it in there food hole lol.

Yeah, I don't think anybody could ever accuse snakes of being the Einsteins of the animal world. I think their prey is smarter then they are.

it's even funnier with a burm who refuses live of f/t. fresh killed only, and she has to figure it out all over again each time. hmmm, is this coil food? smells like it.... it MUST be! *CHOMP* ...... ow, that hurt, nope not a rat..... now where IS it?

yeah, snakes aren't rocket surgeons :D

I fear for my snake's intelligence too. I am just thankful he did not drown himself while I was away for a week, lol. My snake has done some pretty odd things in the short time I have had him.

    Ate a mouse tail first...
    Dove into his water dish...
Climbs the side of the tanks and gets too topsy turvy and slams into the ground...
For a while it seemed he didn't know the difference between hot and cold...

Strangely he has never not ate for me, though. :)
