    Can't Decide!
I'm looking to buy one more snake to add to the collection, not something huge, maybe 7 foot max. I've got a few ideas, but can't really decide. I have a couple BP morphs already, but was kinda looking for something a bit different for now. Thanks in advance! :)

Thanks for the reply, also I see that you are located in Texas: Do you know if we need the Non-Indigenous Snake Permits for super dwarfs?

I am pretty sure we don't. But then again, I'm not positive.

    Super Dwarf.

You should really get a real retic, but if you can't handle more than 7 feet, get the SD.

Yea they are a little pricey still.
I am hopefully picking up a pair next year.

Besides the angolan i would go with carpet.

    Re: Can't Decide!
SD's can be pretty damn expensive. If you cant afford one, and you want a fun snake, get a carpet. These guys are so outgoing. It's cool taking them out and seeing there eyes move around, they like to explore. It seems like they are more intelligent than ball pythons. Well, maybe not more intelligent but a lot more reactive.

I love ball pythons and all but ever since I got a carpet I wont turn back to buying another BP. I'm there are just so many other cool snakes out there.

    Good luck :)

If you can handle a 7ft retic, GO SD!

id recommend Travis Kubes, from BigPythons.
thats where i got my pair.

    otherwise go carpets, or bloods/borneos!

I believe you would. A retic is a retic under the eyes of the law.

can't go wrong with a SD tic, carpet python, or woma.

I was making the same choice recently and went with a coastal carpet because they get a little bigger and aren't as expensive as the other two.

Choose what you want....they are very different snakes listed with different care.

I voted Woma, because I think they are just gorgeous! I've only heard cool things about carpets though, might want to consider those like everyone else said. I love australian snakes in general- children's pythons, anthill pythons very cool snakes too!

    Re: Can't Decide!
If you could afford it get the woma. Very cool snake, I'd love to have some day. For a second choice a carpet would be cool. You already have BP's so you'd probably enjoy something alittle different.

Bredli jags are amazing! Wish I could get my hands on one. Judd wins with an Olive. Amazing snake. I've only got to see one in life and it was incredible. I don't know if you are game, but white lipped pythons look cool. I'm sure I don't have to explain the attitude of a typical one though.

Of course! My vote is the chondro. :D

Blooooood all the way! :D Borneos are generally smaller and more docile than red bloods; highly unlikely that a male Borneo would exceed six or seven feet. They are so incredibly beautiful, too!

Who can resist a fat snake with an attitude?

    Re: Can't Decide!
I got my hands on a Carpet Python yesterday, so far I am already giving this snake so much more attention. It is just more active then our Ball Pythons, my Carpet moves around his tub a lot while the Ball tends to pick a hide and just stay their during the day.

My Carpet seems to like to submerge itself in water and just chill out in his water bowl. Pretty cool snakes, I think you should add a carpet python to your list. They get relatively big although they are not as stocky as a Ball Python, or so I have heard.

No im sorry that the potential size they can reach if you feed them rabbits and pigs. Most people who ket RTB's try not to feed them pigs and rabbits because it can lead alot of helth problems. But most male RTB's reach about 6ft and females around 7-8.

Other. Blood Pythons are the coolest! I just got my first. I have been wanting one for years and I couldn't be happier with the nippy little noodle:D I can't wait till she gets big (and calms down). They fit with your criteria of under 7 feet 99% of the time but get an impressive girth and can out weigh a 10 foot burm.

Go for the SD retic. I have on and i love him. There wicked curious and are really interesting to watch. And they have an awsome feeding response. They're relatively new so not many morphs, and the ones you do find are a little pricey, but the normals still look great and have an awsome irridescence. You can get a CBB hatchling male for about 250, or if your interested in breeding you can get some het albinos.

I live in Texas and yes, you do need the permit. They are still considered a Retic, they don't differentiate. Have you considered a Dumeril's boa? They are in your general size range, great feeders, super docile and freaking beautiful in my opinion. I love mine.
