Does your snake room have a guardian?

I think a lot of us are superstitious here. The mere mention of the Ball Gods gets us ready to strip down and dance with wild abandon in front of our incubators. Well, some of us anyways. :rofl:

Just a question that popped into my mind out of the blue.. I have a "guardian" for my snake room. It's a beautiful statue of the Cretan snake Goddess. I like to think she keeps away negative vibes and contributes positively to the egg odds. (Wishful thinking, anyways!)

Does anyone else have a guardian or some other sort of watcher or mascot in their snake room? Or maybe a good luck charm of some sort?

Umm... No but my Mom has a Gargoyl sitting over her Koi pond. We call him Dink, don't know why.

Not unless you count our pit bull who likes to lay in front of the incubator.

No - but my car has two guardian angels on the passenger side visor. :)

My girl shih tzu lets me come into "her" snake room every once in a while.... She keeps a close eye on the snakes :)

I've never thought of an idol or anything...Thanks a lot... Now I have to go find one!!! :P

Here's a picture of my snake guardian, Bindi the kitty. :D She was always sleeping on the tank (it's in my bedroom) anyway, so I went ahead and put her bed on top - now she's in heaven, LOL. But my 42lb dog is really their guardian, since he's a herding breed who protects his "flock." Last night the cat got too close when I was holding Toby, so Rudy (the dog) immediately jumped up and pushed her away... so cute!

Yeah what's up with cats and snakes? I can't keep my cat out of the snake room. She seems to think it's her job to guard the snakes, yet she won't even give a mouse or a rat a second look.

Now I wish I had a "snake guardian"! Shadera I like the idea of the statue of the snake goddess. I'm not really superstitious, but it is a cool addition to the snake room, in any case.

I swear it's because they look like strings, especially when you're letting them slither on the floor. What cat can resist chasing a moving string? :D

Either that, or they remember living in Egypt/Africa together... LOL.

I was given a snake painting. A small epoxied piece at a show. The artist had done a show that had about half of the pieces were snakes (snakes on buses, eating ice cream, etc.). We talked snakes... he did not have any, but felt compelled to do them for the show.

He gave me a small piece that I hung over my snake room door and also referred to as our Snake Room Sentinel.

Guess that was the right thing to do. :)

I actually don't know what this whole thing (snake guardians) is referring to... and since I am a superstitious person by nature, could somebody please fill me in? :oops: We have a ton of Chinese stores in my neighborhood, so I could definitely find something lucky at one of them.

First: cats in the snake room? I guess you guys don't have any burms...

Second: Love the rottie! Absolutely gorgeous!

Third: Yeah, I have guardians: tegus, monitors, a burm and a conda!

As for my own guardians, they aren't quite as cool as others but they do their jobs. :)
