Whats going on here?

Ok...so I saw this ad on Oodle:

I wrote them an e-mail (probably a bad idea cause it sounded ridiculous) and this was the response:

So I went to the site:

And saw some familiar pictures. Turns out they are Exotics by Nature pictures and some texts from their website.

I hope I'm not out of line and I don't want to piss anyone off. I just got a bad feeling about this camreptilesforum website and e-mail, it felt kind of shady to me. I don't know, maybe Exotics by Nature knows these people and have given them the ok to use their pictures and text.

Anyone have input or come across anything like this before?

It's an old scam. Must work though because they're still using it.

you'd think they'd learn to use a different "location". you see "cameroon" and you know something is up. saw a african rock ad yesterday with hacked photos.

Hacked photos? I think your terminology may be a little off. :P

It's not new, scammers from cameroon (or other countries) try hard, some by having a free website setup with stolen pictures (in this case from RDR, EBN and other people) or sometimes they even venture to posts ads on forums.

Usually it is only a matter of time before their scam is discovered. (and they come up with another one :rolleyes:)

FYI I just contacted EBN as well as RDR about this website.

Ask him how he lives in Cameroon, but also lives very close to Pete Kahl? :rofl:

Incidentally...Who could mistake the silly typing style...Of RDR?...For anyone else?...I mean..Come on!...

What exactly is the scam? I'm sure it's money, but how would they get that with just an address, email, and nearby airport? Is it like an identity theft thing? There were a bunch of these scammy looking ads on oodle.

Ha ha ha that's so true about the RDR text. That actually was on of the red flags. My fiance was like "that's Ralph's stuff totally" but we couldn't find the exact quotes on the site..... could just be us though.

My guess, too.

Or maybe something like "Its all free, but we'll give you $1500 to cover shipping, but shipping will only be $500. So we'll send you $1500, then you take $500 to give to the shipping company, and then give us back $1000" or some other fuzzy math scam where they give you a fake check, you cash it, give them money, then it bounces and you're out the money.

lol i replied to these guys last week but on kijiji... when i asked what they were feeding the snakes they said and i quote "APPLES, CHEESE and FISH" lol i couldn't stop laughing. they them proceded to ask for $2000 to ship them... i told them to **** off and used quite a few "choice" words. they didn't get back to me though :rolleyes:

that person had listed 3.4 piebalds from one litter also for 250 each.

they said camroon mo, BUT it is CAMERON mo. andsupposedly they live in ky. she said she would give me a free female pie bald also.

i already figured out to fake on this one

and i KNEW i had seen that text before the ... instead of a period! yep RDR
