This is still building right?
Hi,
I was moving the snakes around and grabbed a few pictures of Cleo and her bump. :)
S'cuse dust there was a bit of sanding going on earlier to fix a sticky tub and I hadn't got round to cleaning it up.
Just thought I would double check with you guys'n'gals she is still just building? :please:

:colbert: From that angle I say no more dates for that girl.
Let the countdown begin :gj:
So who's the daddy?

Wow seems like that girl is a tricky one, I have never seen a female building up like this (first pic look like an ovi and would have tricked me :O)
I guess you will know for sure in about 14 days
Re: This is still building right?
Well,....
It's either my large normal male or the sneakiest young lesser known to man. :P
I never have caught the lesser locked with anything but I did keep putting him in anyway. :please:

Re: This is still building right?
She looks more "glowy" in these pictures than your first set last year - I'd say ovulation. Was it hard as a rock? (no out of context folks! :P)
Congrats Big D!
Re: This is still building right?
Hi,
Still nervous about how hard to press but I think it's still squidgy.
And her tail looks a lot thicker than at the ovy last year - but then again she has put on a fair bit of weight since then so it may not get as thin this time round.
I'll keep an eye on it over the next 24 hours or so to see if it gets bigger or smaller.
I will also put the male back in in a couple of days if it hasn't gone down to see if she allows mating.
I think she just enjoys messing with me when you get right down to it.

I don't know, but that belongs in that thread of taking funny quotes LOL
Re: This is still building right?
Wow thats pretty tricky, keep us posted on if she sheds in the next week or two. Woulda swore by the pics that she was ovulating but checked back on last years thread and woulda been more convinced from then.
And its nice to see the animals havent sent you to the funny farm as you were concerned about last year.

I agree about the glow, she is quite brighter. Atleast she's gravid, that much is known for now.:weirdface
Re: This is still building right?
May be building up to an Ovy or just plain building. Has she eaten much?
I say pair her until the eggs get in the way;)

Yup! I'm as sane as the next man!  **tightens straps on next guys jacket**
She last shed on the 17th of march so she is definately due for one. Is there any correlation between size when building and eventual clutch size?
Come to think of it what exactly is going on inside them during the building stage?

She has only taken 2 small rats since she last shed - last one was on the 30th of april.
I doubt the eggs would stop herman.
I swear you couldn't trust him with a garden hose lately. He keeps prowling the front of his tub and hissing like a burst tire. Mind you he always tended to hiss to himself - I think he may have issues.
I am glad at least one of my girls is doing something though. :)

Can I trade for one of those "easy to read" ones please? :please:

Re: This is still building right?
Lol,
See this is why she drives me nuts. :rolleye2:
I just got back from 2 days in the old country and snapped this;

Since Ovy's are short lived I'm thinking it has to be building - but how long does building last at that level?
How long should you wait before gently circling your fingers round her neck and, while maintaining the diameter of the finger gap, move it rapidly towards the tail?

Re: This is still building right?
Hi,
So it's 8 days later and she is now in full blue.:)
I am hoping this is the pre-lay shed and that last one was the ovy - if she swells again after the shed I am going to sell her for the good of my fragile mental health. :P

I also felt decent sized follicles in the mid sized female who I thought had decided not to go this year - so she is currently recieving a conjugal visit from herman my scar faced vetran.

She's a BEAST!
Hopefully she bursts for you!
