The expert is back.
Check out this site. It's Ralph Davis's and he teaches you how to create and understand a Punnet Square. For information in regards to whether a snake is Recessive, Co-Dom or Dom, you need to go to snake-zone and check out the morph list.
If it's not gonna get me in trouble, here are the links...

Add those to your favorites, live them and love them.

Re: Question To All To Help And Put The 2 Cents In
if there was something that was 100% het for pewter you would need another het for pewter or an actual pewter.... so with the pairings you gave you wouldn't get any pewters from them
you should just sit back and learn everything you can about genetics and breeding before you go and try breeding then you you'll understand how to make different morphs and realize that you'd be very disappointed with the 100% for pewter

Re: Question To All To Help And Put The 2 Cents In
Pastel to spider is 25% Normal, 25% Pastel, 25% Spider, and 25% Bumblebees (PastelSpider). Mojave to Pastel is the same odds, with Mojave inserted where the spider gene is in the above odds. As for the rest, I think we need to clarify what you mean by 100% pewter before we answer that.

What the hell is Het for Pewter? Pewters are , correct me if Im wrong, Pastel x Cinny. How can sets of co-dom genes be recessive?

Re: Question To All To Help And Put The 2 Cents In
when he said 100% pewter to me it sounded like he meant 100% het for pewter. that was just my guess because it sounds like the person is confused on genetics
if i am wrong and the OP didn't mean that... then im sorry

Nah dude youre good, I figured what you thought based off of the OP. I was just dumbfounded because you about shattered what Ive learned about BP genetics over the past couple weeks.

Re: Question To All To Help And Put The 2 Cents In
lol yeah
to the OP hets go with ressesive like albino, pied... etc , ralphs site and snake zone is a good place to start, along with surfing through the genetics forum on here
ad once again sorry about the confusion

I can't directly see what is wrong with his questions. His replies are often rude, but many people ask the same questions. Yes he comes into this as an 'expert' but what is wrong with his question specifically?
People, you are seriously over-reacting and looking just as stupid as the OP.

You guys do realize Co-Doms are Heterozygous animals too...The term Het does not just apply to recessive genes.

that's definitely a way to think about it, (ie lesser is "het BEL", etc) but in the context of the OPs statement it still dosent make sense.
If he was saying he had a super pewter, he'd end up with 100% pewters, but i dont think thats where this question was going.

Yes, but co-doms tend to be visual while hets look normal until proven otherwise, right? Nobody says a pastel is Het for Super Pastel.

Actually, codoms are visual hets for their super forms. For example, Yellowbelly aka Het Ivory (often referred to as this).

Except for Het Red's.. they are a co-dom visual mutation that the Het form is labeled as such. So there are a few mutations that the genetics can get confusing so I understand the new keeper getting the Het thing mixed up from time to time. :D
Also there are many different mutations that the Homozygous from has a different name than the Het form..I.E Lesser, Spotnose, Woma. These Het forms look nothing like the super form. They are only named different becuse many were marketed prior to the super being proven so you don't get the name Het Pearl, Or het Power Ball. You do how ever see Het Russo or "Russo" Het Lucy, again a codom mutation that carries the Het prefix.
Just something to bare in mind when people get the whole Het thing mixed up.

Thats what I just said..."co-doms are visual"
Sure they're het, but it's not labeled that way because you can tell they're het by the way they look.

That makes sense. But it can still be said that for the most part, co-doms are not labeled het because you can see what they are. In the case of a recessive, the Het part is necessary because you couldn't tell otherwise. (A lav albino's glow and het pied markers don't count, those still go either way)

but this doesnt apply to a "100% pewter." Sure if you are going for super forms i agree, but a pewter is a combo morph. its not from two of the same morph, its from two different morphs.
Saying a snake is "100% pewter" is like saying a pastel is het for super pastel, bee, lemon blast, ect.

Nope. I sure wasn't trying to agree with anything being 100% pewter.

Re: Question To All To Help And Put The 2 Cents In
A pewter is a pewter (cinny x pastel). A Black pewter is a black pewter (black pastel x pastel).
Anything more on the 100% Pewter is not necessary seeing as this is what the 3rd thread on it....
-
Re: Question To All To Help And Put The 2 Cents In
To the OP... you keep using the term 100% pewter in your posts. As you can see it has once again thrown the thread completely out of wack. PLEASE stop using this term. If the snake is both a Cinny and a pastel at the same time, it is simply called "pewter".

Re: Question To All To Help And Put The 2 Cents In
