Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
FIRST:
You need to outline what you can have.
Size, Temp requirements, Space requirements, Temperment, Food Requirements.
Pythons is a HUGE Group
You can get a lot of things, and probably some things you more than likely can't and shouldn't handle.
SPELL IT OUT before asking these types of questions.
People don't know what you are looking for.
People don't know who you are.
You need to be more open before asking these types of questions.

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
size tank 10-30 gallons, not TOO hard to take care of. its colors can be as simple as a whit lipped python and as bright as a chondro.

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
The list could be long how about helping narrowing it down?
You are talking about looks but what about your knowledge as an herper, what category do you think you are fitting in?
Beginner - Intermediate - Experienced - Very Experienced
What species are YOU familiar with? (and I am not talking about you knowing what they look like but the species you are knowledgeable about when it comes to husbandry, care, needs etc)
What species have YOU researched? Which one can YOU provide for? Which one meets YOUR criterias?
-
Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
No offense but you seem pretty demanding. Why don't YOU try doing some research on what YOU want pick up at a reptile show. It's ok to ask questions, but don't rely on people. It feels as though the good people on this forum are doing more work than you are.
Tools needed:
Google.com
That's it.

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
OK Coolguy, Listen, I don't mean to be rude, but I have to say this.
Instead of randomly posting what tanks you "need" to fill. How about you do not get anymore pets and focus on the ones you do (or don't) have.
I’ll leave it at that

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
I agree. This, if I remember, is the second post I have seen by you asking what type of animal you should get for yet another tank. You should have a clear Idea of what kind of animals you want, or you don't need the animal. Have I decided I wanted an animal on a whim? Sure I have, when I was five. Have I done it lately, in a manner of speaking. I decided on a whim to buy two more normal female ball pythons, but as I already had about 8 others at the time, I had a pretty good handle on how to take care of them.
These are animals, not collectables that can be bought, sold, and traded on a whim with no effect.

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
you are obviously just trying to stir the pot with your incessant useless posts... i suggest you just sit back and read some posts for awhile. maybe post pics of your animals when you get a minute... not trying to be rude but looking through your posts, it's pretty obvious what is going on.

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
I hate to sound mean to the OP. But it could also be because this kid is 14 years old.

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
Here after spending plenty of my time trying to help you in previous posts. This is all I am going to say. You go do your own homework, find a snake you like google it read about it and find out as much as you can. Do this for as many snakes as you see that interest you. Once you actually have a snake or two you might want and you know at least something about it come back and ask if you should get this and I might waste my time on you. Tell then stop posting and start reading

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
This all seems oddly familiar....can't place it though.....

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
I think a ball python is probably best for that size tank. Maybe spotted pythons.
I also saw an ad(post) that had mentioned viper boas. They stay less than 3 feet(I think). I've never even seen a viper boa so I don't think they are too common in the pet trade.
Don't let some of the other posts discourage you. A 10-30 gallon tank really limits your python selection.
Keep your chin up and let us know what you decide to make your next python.

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
You should get a CH Pied Piper Mullet Round Python. They're so rare, it'll have all your homies up in your JHS saying Whoaaaaaaa dude!
Or a corn snake, that works too. You know, whatevs.

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
If this guy is 14 years old, is there really a need to bash him because he is having trouble deciding? When I was 14 (no offense kid) I didn't know my ass from a hole in the ground. Remember the Northridge earthquake in California? Yeah...That was my head coming out of my ass:O He just needs a little help deciding, or maybe someone to look up to. If you guys are reptile enthusiasts and you want the reptile to be in good hands, then suggest something he is going to have any enjoyable experience caring for(or we might see another case of neglect). :gj:

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
Lol twisted...the thing is....he has a billion threads asking the same things, with MANY informative helpful posts. Also, he claims to own a ton of animals, and be very well informed on the caring of many species.

Yeah, what Creep said.
What type of Colubrid, What type of python, Which brand of TP. Guy has questions and received answers, but refuses to do his own thinking. Hmm..I wonder if he asked someone what he should ask....

I'm sure he is consulting others.

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
i would say find something small enough to live in a 10 gallon for its whole life at the show.
then that will solve both of your threads
OR.....if it were me i would read more about viper boas, i dont think they get very big and might be ok in a 30 gallon

I always feel bad whenever I'm rude. I would love to help this kiddo, only if he could ask a direct question once.
Again, not trying to be rude, and definatly not bashing. I am completely here to help.
Neglect hits home with us here at The CT Reptile Rescue, that is when we get called, of course I want to avoid it.
But in the end
Education is key

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
I'm 15, I keep more than just a corn snake.
Don't blame it on age guys, as age is nothin' but a numba.
Keep it real.

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
i'm not trying to be a jerk so this is my last response to his threads... i only ask that you read through his posts and tell me whats up? he lies repeatedly, gets beligerant with those trying to help, and asks horribly open ended questions for no real reason.
i'm just sayin....

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
Doesn't sound like an age related problem though ;)
Maybe he's from the land of trolls?
-
Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
clearly that was a joke, hence the " ;) "

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
Thing is, you can't help someone who doesn't know what they want.
I think he's just got 300 bucks from mowing yards, and it's burning a hole in his pocket. (theoretically speaking)
Again man, just RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH. THEN ask questions.....don't buy ANYTHING on a whim

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
I personally am not blaming it on age. Please understand (DutchHerp) that I have no issue whatsoever with teens owning herps. To his is own....
I am only here to help.
But again, there seems to be a confusion on how coolguy is posting. It seems to be very open ended questions, with very mixed info on his own experience. I don't think at this point anyone is playing the age card. Just the real life experience card.
Again, I've known 15 yr. olds that have loved and raised burmese pythons.

Yes, I agree these threads are stupid, I just hate it when people blame it on the age... not singling you out though, man!
-
Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
LOL, I love it how the old folks can look back and blame it on "that age", and those at that age have to get all pissy.
Sometimes, you can't see the whole picture if you're standing right in it? Eh? LOL. Give the old folks credit, they aren't stupid, they've been there, they have dealt with teens for longer than teens, so maybe there is something to it?
Like Wilde said, "I am not young enough to know everything." But, this is getting off topic... :P

Re: What python species should i consider buying at the reptile expo im going to?
Connie, of course that's true. When I'm old I'ma laugh at all the stuff I did at the age I am right now. I even realize that right now.
I do know that I keep my animals responsibly and that I don't start trolling around forums.

Yep yep. I may make a sideways comment in regards to age, but age is not a determining factor for keeping reptiles or not. If you can take care of it and meet or exceed its basic needs, have it.
Oh and, everyone is right about the research. This dude wants answers...instead of google image searching different pythons and colubrids, then checking out the care sheets for that species. The internet is a powerful research tool, and this guy is cutting corners in the research side of it...so what corners is he going to cut in the husbandry of whatever he purchases?
DutchHerp...good on you man. Coolbeans or whatever, Google son...PRONTOOOOO.

Lol yeah, I said coolbeans. It was mostly a play on the OP's name, but I do say cool beans in real life. Great minds...!?
