lesser platinum x normal fem clutch day 52

this is my first clutch 8 eggs and 1 went bad so 7 left :( i have been waiting 2 years for this. today is day 52 of incubation.....i want to cut the eggs soooo bad!!! should I? im scared to...i practiced on the bad egg just to get a feel for cutting the shell. what do you guys think? i'll add the photos once i figure out how too :)

Most Ppl Would Say Go For It But I Say Wait Til Day 55 And You Never Know They May Pip Within 3 Days Of You Waiting.

so here is the eggs before i put them on the perlite/vermiculite it was 1st few hours and the top egg went bad the rest are still lookin good

lets say i do cut them what should be aware of? are there any concerns after cutting them?

Just be careful not to cut any veins

Candle the egg before hand to make sure to avoid the main veins.

Cut carefully and slowly.

Did the egg fill up with blood or do you just see a little bit? Should be okay as long as the baby is still moving. Be sure to post more pics when they come out

In the future, don't cut so much, and don't cut the tops off. Leave a slit, because now the "goo" can accumulate bacteria and possibly kill your babies.

ohh jeeeez there is so much to worry about!!! i didnt think this was going to be so stressful!!

Just keep checking. Poke them (with a sterile something) if you are worried that they aren't doing well.

And if there is a grey slime growing on the top of the goo, you also will have problems.

what if that happens what do i do then? wash it out with water or something? shall i go cover it with seran wrap since i just did that a couple hours ago??

By then, it may be too late. I've never been able to recover an animal with grey film on the goo. Plus, water isn't the best solution for adding into an egg. Saline would probably be better.

Thats usually why people don't open the egg up so much.

If you cover them with Seran Wrap, there is a real possibility of suffocating your babies if they choose to try and come out.

Just leave them alone. Watch them closely, but quit MESSING with them.

so today is day 56 i wish they would come out of the eggs already!! so upon closer examination after cutting the eggs open 1 of the snakes was already dead it was much smaller than the others and had no movement so i guess it had died already before i cut the eggs open. i removed the dead snake to see why but couldnt figure it out it looked as if it had stopped developing at least 1 or 2 weeks before i cut the eggs open. :( so i am still 6 out of 8 eggs. 4 lessers and 2 normals i think?? hopefully all females :D

I had the some issue this year, lesser stopped developing and died in the egg, propably around day 40. A lot of yolk was still in the egg. Too bad.

3 are out 1.0 lesser 0.2 normals so far still waitin for 1 more lesser and 2 more normals they are still chillin in their shell once they are all out i will post pics
