will a baby ball python be good in a 41 quart tub?
would it get stressed? what can i put in the tub to make it less stressful for it?
Re: will a baby ball python be good in a 41 quart tub?
Well it is recommended 12-15qt tubs for babies(I believe that is right) but I have 2 very small bp's in 40qt tubs and they seem to be fine! They feed, drink, and go to the bathroom. I guess the only thing to do is try it. I have 2 hides in the tubs for them one on each end to give them extra security. And my rack was homemade and closed in on all 3 sides and has a plexiglass front to try and help keep the heat and humidity in because I have used wood to build mine. I hope this helps answer your question!

a 41qt tub is too big for a baby ball, try a 15qt.
Re: will a baby ball python be good in a 41 quart tub?
It all depend's on the snake. I have a 350 gram YB who is thriving in a 32 qt tub, and a 700 gram Hypo who I had to switch to a 12 qt tub because of feeding issue's!:rolleye2: But I would definitely say a 41 is way too large for a small Ball.
Re: will a baby ball python be good in a 41 quart tub?
A hatchling to a yearling will do well in a 15qt tub and then a 32qt tub would be for adults. I would only put a 2,500g+ female in a 41qt.

we tend to use the smaller tubs for our bp's when they are young. If it's what you have and can afford as long as you have two hides and a watter dish and the snake is eating then I would say you are okay if not try switching it to a smaller tub and see if that fixes any problems.

I have my hatchlings in 6qts
Re: will a baby ball python be good in a 41 quart tub?
6 quart tubs are large enough and make the balls feel real comfortable :)
Re: will a baby ball python be good in a 41 quart tub?
Definitly too big, but with tons of stuff like hides and water dishes you might get away with it.

With as much experience as you SAY you have. You should know better than to put a baby ball python in a 41qt tub.

Id watch the language. The administrators will give infraction points for it, and can lead to a ban from the site.
I suppose what I mean to say is, find what animal YOU like man. If you've got as much experience as you say you do, you should know what you like.
Just search the forums for pictures, and see what catches your eye.
THEN, read up on the forums using the search option for info regarding that species.
Just about any species of snake CAN be a good captive if your prepared for it, and can properly take care of it.
Asking whether or not you should get one snake or another is going to get you BIASED answers, and I think you may end up with something your not prepared for.
Re: will a baby ball python be good in a 41 quart tub?
My Ball is around a yearish, and lives in a 41 qt. The tub is filled with accessories to keep him secure, so you could probably get away with it. I suppose it sometimes depends on the Ball.
