That wasn't too hard... :)
Day 55 1/2....
Before (pic taken last weekend):

After:

Wasn't too hard. I didn't hit any main veins at all but as the pics show I did hit a small vein on one of them. Post cut 6 of them were moving around quite a bit... one not so much... The one that isn't moving is the egg that got the most deflated and had a big crease. He looks the same color as the rest though so I am hopeful it is still alive.
Looks like my second favorite snake (My graziani pastel) is probably the dad.... I honestly have no idea what one is a morph if any... one does look a little darker then the rest.
There was a lot more "goo" then I expected... but two of them didn't have any goo hardly at all.
I am going to drink a beer now!!!!

How awesome!
So you actually poked holes in the eggs? I am still learning- why is this done?

50% fear that the eggs were going bad, and at day 55 it does not hurt them to hurry things along.
50% impatience.
Well, this morning 5 of them turned around and are now right side up, but still no heads popping out. Anybody have any idea how long it usually takes for the heads to pop out????

Re: That wasn't too hard... :)
Looks good Mike. They come out when they are good and ready;) I have seen a difference of 5 days from the first to the last so just be calm, they'll come:gj:

They'll come out when they are ready. :) It does seem though that once one of them actually exits the egg and starts to slither around, the others just have to join the party. We watched one of our hatchlings last year leave it's egg then try to stuff itself in with it's sibling in another egg....no go on that buddy boy! LOL

Re: That wasn't too hard... :)
Congrats Mike! Can't wait to see them out of the egg.

Re: That wasn't too hard... :)

You can try poking him see if there is a reaction, but I would not be too worried some of them hardly move until they are ready to get out.

Is it round of beers and cigars from everyone now that you are a new daddy?
Congrats can't wait to see them out.

That is awesome Mike!!! Congrats. Can't wait to see them :)

Re: That wasn't too hard... :)
Congrats on making your first cuts Mike. I'm guessing you will see at least one head out before you turn in tonight, and at least 5 when you wake up. Day 57 at 88.5 sounds about right. I can't wait to see pictures of them all huddled in the corners of tha egg box.

Re: That wasn't too hard... :)

Re: That wasn't too hard... :)
Update!
NOthing.... :(
They are still sitting nice and cozy in their eggs. don't even have any heads popping out yet! The picture above is the closest any of them have gotten to sticking a head out.
I hope my kids aren't this hard to kick out when they are 18!

Re: That wasn't too hard... :)
Hi,
Have you tried opeing the incubator and yelling "As long as you are under my roof you will folow my rules!" ?
Worked quite well on my cousins. :gj:

Snakes are actually much easier :O

Re: That wasn't too hard... :)
Congrats Mike! It took mine about 5 days to come out once I cut the eggs. Another thing that you might not be prepared for - the eggs STINK after a few days after you cut them too!
Be sure to mist them to keep them moist now!
-
Re: That wasn't too hard... :)
Congrats!!!! I'm glad to see they all turned out for you! You'll have to keep us updated! I want to see them out of the eggs!
-
Re: That wasn't too hard... :)
Man, they do stink!!!! one is 3/4 of the way out of the egg, the others are all sticking their heads out and going back in to hide. I am dying waiting for them to come out!!!
