    what mixes well with vanilla
okay so i know about super vanilla, vanillabees, vanilla ghost, vanilla spider, super vanilla ghost, supervanilla orange ghost, brass balls, vanilla pewter, vanilla pastel, and vanilla butter ghost...i actually have pics of all these...my question is what other morphs would mix well with a vanilla? does any one have a pic of a vanilla mojave?

Can you post the pic of the Super Vanilla Ghost? I think the Vanilla gene mixes well with everything!

I can't think of any morphs or combos that wouldn't be improved upon by adding the vanilla gene, as long as you like the idea of a brighter snake. There hasn't been too much done with the vanilla gene yet, but everything I've seen so far has been gorgeous. I can't wait to get a pair of vanillas to start adding to all my combo projects. I've been saying that since I first saw one, and back then a lot of people didn't think much of them. So far, they've gone from the "bleh" lists, to the "I'd like to work a vanilla into my project, one day" lists. I think that once the vanilla gene starts making an appearance in a few more combos, people will start seeing the potential and want to move vanillas from the "I'll get one, one day" list, up to their must have category, up there between enchis and pastels.

Can you post links to the pictures you have of all the vanilla crosses? I don't think I've seen a few of the ones you mentioned.

At Marc Baileys I had the opportunity to see the pastel vanilla as well as the super vanilla in person. Both were incredible, and the reason why I had to pick up a sweet vanilla girl when I was there. There were probably some other great combos that I am missing as well.

I'm bringing this thread back because I was wondering about the mojave vanilla. Are there any more pictures out there??

I have a light mojave with a blushed out head that just threw 4 babies from a regular mojave dad. The BEL that hatched is very white with almost no grey. The 1.2 normals that hatched are also light with blushed out heads.

I'm beginning to think that mom is a vanilla mojave. No way to know unless I grew up the babies and breed them - is this hobby fun or what??

I looked at this thread about 10 times before buying some of these, so I just popped back in to post a picture of a 100 gram vanilla pastel...pictured next to a rather nice pastel (het clown).

The pastel is actually one of the nicer ones I've seen (very little orange to turn brown later), but the picture had to be a little dark so that the vanilla pastel didn't look blown out. The difference is unreal.

Here's a head shot of a 1,500 gram male vanilla. Very ghostly in appearance and the pattern on the back is perfectly clean.

The best combo I've seen so far is the Vanilla Cream (Fire/Vanilla). That combo was the single reason I added a Vanilla to the collection this year. It's smoking!

Oh yeah...my favorite two gene combo by far. I have bumblebees (one of the most popular hands down) so I have nothing against them, but when push comes to shove, I think the Vanilla Cream is in another class.

Bumblebees look cool as babies, but the Vanilla Cream will have awesome color even as an adult. Just imagine what pastel or Super Vanilla (or both) will do to that. So even thinking long term, I think the Vanilla Cream really holds it's own in terms of combo potential too.

I'm hoping to produce a few in 2011...maybe a pastel version too.

If only there was a morph that had red pigmnet and called the strawberry ball, then you could make a vanilla, chocolate and strawbeery combo and call it the neopolitan ball.

Best of luck. My vanilla is a hatchling so I've got a ways to go (the vanilla is a female). My Fire should be ready to go next year but I've got to get him eating again.

I just love how the pattern is so whacked out. That was a very unexpected development since neither the fire nor vanilla are pattern morphs. Hope it proves out as more are produced.

If Vanilla makes all of those morphs look like that, I can't think of any morphs that wouldn't go well with it.

The vanilla gene actually is a pattern mutation...if you look at the supers, the pattern is made up of way more light pattern than dark. Also, any black "holes" tend to be smudged and/or odd shaped. It's not a drastic pattern variation, but there's definitely some influence in the pattern. The fact that it reacted that strongly with the Fire gene is just crazy. The only thing I've seen crazier than that is the YB and Specter making the Super Stripe.

I think there were four VC's produced this year...I've seen all four in a picture and all looked similar.

Can't wait to see the pastel and super vanilla versions.

I just got one too. They aren't stunners, but I still think he's incredibly neat. I like just seeing up close how a gene reacts with other genes. To think of the combo potential or a super vanilla black pastel...

the prices have dropped so much on vanilla's....when i started this thread i paid 575$ for my female vanilla 66% het ghost and she was a baby at the time that i got her.....my heart just kept breaking as more and more people started breeding and selling vanilla's at lower and lower prices....the worst part is that i saw some normals on king snake trying to be sold as vanillas....sad so sad....
