Depends on how prepared you are to care for said snake. If you are new to snakes I would start with either a ball or BCI.

Seriously though, they are very different creatures - what are you looking for in a snake and how much experience/room do you have?

Ball pythons are MUCH more forgiving that Bloods husbandry wise.

One pet snake: BALL PYTHON---they are easy to maintain, take up very little space, docile if handled a few times a week, cheaper to feed(smaller food items), poo is smaller(boas and bloods have massive craps), ---see what other posters say! All three are beauties though!

Decide on which one is your favorite and pick that one. I don't keep bloods and I only have a few boas and many many ball pythons. but their basic care isn't THAT much different from each other. Find someone (or several someones, or probably the pet store) who have those species and ask if you can handle them. You'll probably find yourself drawn to one in particular.

I don't have one but BCI's are super fun to handle and are really outgoing.

Bloods aren't as forgiving husbandry wise but they are awesome if you know what your doing

Ball pythons are good starter snakes. They are very gentle and they stay at a smaller size that BCI's and Bloods.
