    Picture Request.
I am on day 49. does anyone else have any eggs this age? If so can you post a picture of them?

Getting a little nervous. My humidity is still just under 100% and my eggs are deflating BIG time. They are still white, and I can clearly see the snakes (and patterns) when candeling.

One more question... if you cut, on what day do you cut?

    thanks!

I'm a week behind you at day 42. Eggs begin to dimple and become soft a 2-3 weeks before they hatch. This makes it easier for the little hatchlings to cut through the egg shell. Mine are just now starting to "deflate".

I can try to get some pictures for you during the next week if you still want them, but I'm trying to only disturb the eggs during their weekly egg-tub airing session which was about half an hour ago.

Mine are on day 46 in this picture (taken yesterday); they actually started dimpling about a week ago, but have slowed going any further the past day or so. I don't cut until the first one pips.

Yeah, that picture is close to what they look like... only mine are a little more deflated. One especially is more deflated then the others. will try to post a pic tonight when I get off of work.

Is there anything special you are supposed to do with the eggs at this point? I read somewhere where a guy puts damp newspaper over the eggs at this point to help soften them up.

Last year when I was a bit concerned with the early denting, I wet and wrung out a paper towel with water that was warmed in the incubator and laid it across the tops of the eggs (without smothering them). It seemed to arrest any further denting.

Another note.... today is the first day that I noticed condensation on the inside walls of the egg tub.

Sure looks like they are going to pip any day now, what day did you say you we're on? :)

Sure does! I don't think you have anything to worry about Mike. The condensation means the temps inside the container are higher than outside, which is normal as the eggs will typically increase their temps on their own as they get closer to hatching.

Take a deep breath brother...they look ok. I cut after the first pip. Safe to cut on day 55 or so, candle and dont cut any veins. Dont poke or prode, after cutting just let them come out on their own. I think you will see a pip before then

They are completely normal. It means they are ripe, and will be pippin soon. They should be getting a bit warmer thats probably why the condensation has increased. Relax, they know what they're doing;)

So do i need to do anything at this point to reduce the deflating or do I just leave em alone????

Deflating is part of the process, no need to be concerned or do anything. Its just a sign they are getting close, thats all. They need to do that, just chill and enjoy it.

Leave them alone !!!!!!!!!!! they look perfectly fine .
I wouldn't suggest cutting the eggs until at least day 55 ,and especially if your new at this I would suggest not cutting them at all .Let them come on their own , and if they haven't piped by day 60 then cut a slit .

inexperience and cutting eggs isn't a good combination to put together .
I know we all started at this point but when I had my first eggs and I cut I messed up and a couple babies paid for my mistakes ..

they are right on track , DONT PANIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
