Wow!!!!

talk about being inverted, this is my spider female breed to a super pastel, so obviously i have seen this many times before but shes due to lay any day now, do they do this that soon to laying often?

I've personally not had a girl lay THAT inverted, but I also don't have a great deal of experience, myself. I'll be interested in the responses as well! ;)

yeah i have never seen it that much either, it was a shock when i first looked i thought she might be dead!! so i had to poke her!!! lol

A local python owner told me that if you have a female that is getting ready to lay eggs and lays with over half of her body inverted it is a good indication she might have egg impaction and is trying to work them free. Now, I don't know how true this is, but according to this chap, he had 3 snakes behave like this and all 3 went to the vet do have their eggs removed. I hope that's not the case with your snake...

please god dont be true, cause she is really late for her laying, i have been a little worried about her, does anyone here have any knowledge about this?

ok so im freaking out now, she is very swollen more then i have ever seen could this be a issue?

I have a female who looked identical. If she is say 10 days past her lay date, then you may have reason for concern...just be patient...

shes 55 days from ovulation!!

Did she ever have a prelay shed within that time? My gals begin to invert after their prelay shed right before they drop their clutch.

How many days has it been since her prelay shed??

not exactly sure i know it was atleast 2-3 weeks ago

i have females doing that as well and they laid fine i have 1 that was total invert almost total head to tail and she laid 7 perfect eggs with no probs .

i dont see it being a sign of egg bound to many of them doing it and laying with no probs ..

dont freak out cause thats not gonna do anything but cause you to make mistakes and act with bad judgement . just keep an eye on the days and calculations , i think you should have no probs

You want to record her prelay shed. She will lay about a month after that... Like I said, my girls look like that after their prelay shed and right before the drop their clutch. 2-3 weeks...I think you need to fire up your incubator. ;) She is fine, you are going to have a clutch within the week I bet....

your right thank you i neded that post! its just its been a crazy season around here and i cant deal with anymore bad luck, plus that post earlier about being egg bound set it off!!!

I see them get in weird positions as they are moving the eggs lower. It cant be comfortable but I wouldnt worry. The swelling should get lower as she gets closer to lay. Sounds like a great clutch:gj:

my female laid exactly 30 days after her pre-lay shed (landed on mothers day)

I woke up to the same thing today, the last girl I had like that laid an 8 egg clutch within a few days.
