What is my 1900g Pinstripe worth???

She is a virgin and still feeding regularly. Just curious as to what shes worth. I heard a dollar per gram, but dunno.

I'd say at least 1500. But if I had a 1900 gram Pin female you pay twice that to pry it out of my hands

I'd pay that with out blinking for one that size...In fact If it was one I really like I'd consider paying over 2K.

OK, let me ask this: I'm working on a trade with a guy. For my Pin girl and my 300g low white Pied female he is willing to trade a 1200g proven breeder Albino male, a 1200g proven breeder Pewter male, and a 700g Clown female. Is that a good deal for both or is someone getting shorted? I needed a clown female(have a het clown male) and wanted a pewter male( have a 1000g Cinnamon female) Thanks to all for answering my little questions

Your getting the better end value wise hes getting the better end production wise .. the clown females run 1800-2500, proven albino I'd say about 900-1200, and a pewter It say 900-1000..

If it was me I'd breed the Pin to a Lesser or some other Co-Dom sale the babys and buy the one's you want..You keep the female..and get the other morphs..

Thats just me..You have to figure the time you've put in to raising the Pin into its value.

thats the thing, I just got her a couple months ago for dirt cheap. So no time involved.

I agree, price wise its a good deal but you really have to think about what you are getting, what you need to produce the morphs you want, and add in all your time not to mention if you get attached to your pets.

Looking at you collection in your signature, if you traded your pied female you would have 2 males (pied/het pied) and no females for a pied project. If you wanted to produce pieds you'd be at a loss (time and money wise). Also, you have 3 poss. het clown females, those are pretty good odds if you wanted to try to produce your own clowns with your het clown male. The pewter male would be a good idea to pair with your cinnamon. If I were you I wouldn't trade your girls. You can find pewter males for sale that are reasonable and you still have time so you could get a baby and raise it up to breeding size. That's my spin on it.

My 3 poss het clowns aren't eating and wont be to size next year. And I really want to breed clowns. My male pied is getting my axanthic girl and I'll probably pick up a couple het pied adult females this summer, instead of waiting 2 yrs for my female pied to mature. This will be my first year breeding... hope i'm not barking up the wrong tree. Thanks for the advice guys

I was leaning towards "I wouldn't do it" until I read jsmorphs2's post. It hadn't occurred to me to look at your collection, but looking at it, I agree with that post entirely. So now I'm much stronger in the "no way" camp.

Most of the "value" that you'd be receiving is in 2 things. First the clown female. But you already have 3 phets, and between the 3 it is extremely likely that at least one is het and then you'll be able to produce your own clowns. Admittedly, not as many with a het as with a visual, but you'd be trading away your ability to produce pieds at all.

Second is that the 2 males are big proven breeders. However, while I know they do sell for more, I'm not convinced there really is that much more value in proven breeder males than there is in hatchling males. I have not personally done this, in fact I haven't done any breeding at all yet (next year!), but I have seen so many posts about so many different people growing up a hatchling male and having him breed his first winter, that it seems reasonably likely that if you tried it, you'd be successful at it too. If I'm wrong about this, hopefully someone with more knowledge and experience will say so.

So I say if you want an albino and pewter male, buy hatchlings this year. Hold on to your big pin girl. She is worth more as a breeder than she is in cash or trade.
