:D:D:D:D He is just so funny. As soon as we put hom in the tank I assumed he would run and hide and we wouldn't see him until he settled in. Oh no he is one nosey little dragon. He's been checking us out and every inch of the tank.
The little baby is yet un-named.
Re: Dad did say no more SNAKES

Go ahead and bump him up, theres no way he will have the correct heat and uvb in a ten gallon without getting over heated. Also Beardies do not need hides.
Whats your tank set up look like?
Re: Dad did say no more SNAKES
One thing you'll learn is that each Beardie has their own personality. We have 3 and they all have their own little quirks and are nothing but a joy to have around. One thing to keep in mind is, the more time you spend with your beardie the more fun you'll have with him. If you handle them regularly as a baby then they will love being handled as an adult and they can become very affectionate as well.
There's a reason these animals are ranked at the top of the list for reptiles that are fun to own. You sure got yourself a gorgeous one there as well. Congrats!!! ;)

what a sweet looking dragon!
Re: Dad did say no more SNAKES
Awww, I remember when mine were that size. So cute!
Re: Dad did say no more SNAKES
Matt should we go straight up to the 55? he is so tiny Im worried he wont eat well. We have these things bought already a UV day bulb and a moon lamp for night, water dish, a half log (he stays on top of it) cage carpet but thinking of going with newspaper, some greenery and a thermometer with with probe to monitor hot and cooler sides. I have screen tops for the 20 gallon but will have to get one for the 55. anything you think we should add to the shopping list?
Re: Dad did say no more SNAKES
Mine sleeps all day, he is soooo lazy but he will get all riled up and just conquer his cage then take a nap again. They are fun to have and watch.
Re: Dad did say no more SNAKES
Awww, what a sweetie! Congrats! They are amazing pets. Such little personalities. Have fun!

Id bump him to a 20 gallon, when they need 110 degrees of heat a ten gallon can just be to small for that. What kind of uvb bulb did you get? Also if your house doesn't get below 75 degrees at night I wouldn't worry about a night bulb. Is the half log made of wood? I know they have plastic half wood logs but the wooden ones are impossible to clean when they poop on them. He is a nice little guy though! Though they shouldn't be selling them so young I love it when they are that small :)

it does get into the low 70s at night. The uv bulb is one of those that provides heat and uv. Ill have to ask my Mom what brand it is. Bumping up to a 20 tonight. I will post pics of the set up.
He is eating really well. I love watching him bob his little head then rush at the crickets.

Im a little concerned about the bulb, as it sounds like it could be a compact bulb if she got it from a petstore because most do not sell MVB bulbs.
Make sure the crickets are the right size as well, they should be no longer than the width between eye ball to eye ball on your beardie, and they will eat around 30-50 a day.
Re: Dad did say no more SNAKES
He is such a cutie!! We were thinking about getting one, and then all of a sudden I came home to a little bp in my house. Now, I want both. lol. Congrats!!
