Been 4 months finally found her
I have a %100 het pied femal ball python I bought from Allen @ bigdaddyballrom.com last year and after feeding my snakes one nite I forgot to latch her tub and she got out. I was so mad at myself. I completely took everything out of the room twice to look for her but nothing both times, so I kinda gave up after a while. today while I was at work my son (age 6) called me on my cell, he was so exited I couldnt hardly understand what he was saying at first. He found her in his sock droor in his bedroom. I dont know how she got in his door but I am so happy to have her back. She was so thirsty and I am sure she is hungry also. I am going to let her settle in her hide tonite and try and feed her tomorrow...Thanks for reading my post I had to tell someone...lol. Has anyone ever had something like this happen to them? I would like to hear how long was missing and where you found your little friend...

Congrats on your find!!! If I were an escaped snake, the sock drawer might seem like a nice place to hide.

Has she lost any significant weight while she's been gone? Perhaps she's found some food while she was missing.

That is whats crazy....Last time I weighed her just over 4 months ago and she was 374 grams. I just weighed her and she is now 368 grams do you think she found something or is it possible for her to maintain her weight that long?

it could be possible. remember their metabolism is much slower than ours. If she did find something to it.. more power to her.

    Awesome!
I lost my corn for 2 months. She showed up in the hallway, hungry and a little thin. My cats had their backs up and were trying to figure out what she was. They didn't hurt touch her at all. They are inside cats and I think were more scared than she was.

Back in the day I had an argus monitor escape for 2 months one summer outside. One day I just happened to spot something sprinting at high speed across my neighbors yard and down the culvert. An hour later finaly got her out and yup I was bloodied lol.

We had a female BP get loose. She was also gone for 4 months and also lost no significant weight at all. Now it is possible in this old house that she caught a house mouse or two but unlikely as she was found on another floor of the house and we've never seen evidence of mice up there at all. How she got from a closed snake room, along a long hall, up a big set of stairs and into our master bedroom (that door is always shut) remains a total mystery to us. One day my husband found her coiled up quite comfortably on a stack of paperbacks she'd knocked over. She didn't appear dehydrated or thin or even stressed and quickly settled back into her tub. :)

over th years I had snake get loose fromthe snake room and they always were found in good shape. I had one get outside due to a hole in the ac ducts. That bp was fine and when return to her cage was just as happy as befoer her 2 week game of hide and seek.. sadly she did die a few weeks later the vet thought she may of gotten a mouse that had been in some rat posion..so she was posion too .

Yay! Always so great to find a missing snake.

My irian jaya carpet python escaped one weekend when he was still little. I found him in a hat that I had hanging on the corner of my curtain rod in the same room, haha. More disconcerting was the baby cornsnake that was gone for a full month. He escaped from a tank on the second floor of the house and I found him in the basement office. Go figure.

My bearded dragon escaped not too long ago. He was gone maybe 5 mins before I noticed and made it about half way across the room. Lizards are so much easier to find. :D
