what do you guys think

so I am thinking about buying this guy. He is 100% het pied. I found the ad on CL, but the person selling him (don't want to call him out) has a good guy rating on the BOI. What do you think, does this snake look a little skinny or is it just me.

Just judging off the photo...looks clean, but a bit skinny, could use a few nice sized meals. Is he eating well?

he looks a little on the thin side, but a few good meals will change that :)

he looks kinda skinny. you'll just have to get him and beef him up a little :P then you'll have an excuse to start a het project :)

Might help to have a little more info. An age would help. If he is just 2 months old, no. If he is 5 years, maybe a little.

I wasn't looking for a het project just yet. To exicted to get a visual, but I found this little guy and it kind of changed my mind

if i as in that exact same situation price would determine it if its too good of a deal to pass up then do it and you'll have him when your ready to start hets

also i just bought a normal male that was in the condition that one is a lil over 4 foot and real skinny also a lil over 2 years old, beautiful snake it was kept in a 55 gallon with no substrate just a UTH a half log a water bowl and a stick fee as only 50 bucks he is the sweetest snake ive ever had never hissed at me never struck at me and is very curious always roaming around plus i got a 55 gallon tank that is either gonna have a turtle in it or its gonna be a fish tank :)

I can tell by what's in the background who the seller is. Pardon my French, but he's a zit on the butt of the herp community. I haven't checked his feedback rating on the BOI as I stay faaaar away from him, but he has a pretty bad rep thread or two over on reptileradio's forum if you'd like to have a peek.

His animals are kept in disgusting conditions, and he's constantly "getting out of the business". I wouldn't buy the snake, get one from a reputable seller.

in that case i would say pass it up i didn't know he had a bad rep and i guess the snake shows ho good he is your only as good as the quality of your snakes in the selling world

thank you sooooo much for pointing that out to me. I did have a little bit of a weird feeling about him, but the price that he was selling this snake was just TOO good.(which should have been my first clue). I will for sure stay away from this guy

Now we are all curious who this seller is. I have a guess due to the "getting out of the business" comment, but I suspect there is more than one who uses that marketing ploy.

LMAO. Thats great. Atleast it wasn't me. but from what I just got done reading he needs to be called out for sure. i would have hated to go out there and get this snake then come on here all proud of the new baby, only to be the guy that got his snakes from phil hoerner. its bad enough that i am from the same town as this guy.

I emailed Phil to let him know that I had changed my mind in getting the snake because of what i had read on reptileradio and he just emailed me back wondering if I "believe everything i read". I told him it was kind of funny that this thread was started quite awhile ago talking about his "going out of business sale" and here he was going out of business agian. lol. I'm kind of interested if he is going to write me back
