can a BEL produce another BEL from breeding a normal??
I was thinking about this today at work, is it possible? A bumblebee can produce bumblebees, so could a lesser x mojave BEL produce another lesser mojave ( or you can use any other combo)? I know a super pastel cannot produce supers when bred to a normal, thats why I question it.
Re: can a BEL produce another BEL from breeding a normal??
Nope a Bel is a super form of a leser, mojo, butter or Het russo so it will only give you what ever it is made of
Re: can a BEL produce another BEL from breeding a normal??
I thought if you have a BEL that is made from 2 different genes (mojave x lesser)then you can reproduce a BEL by breeding to a normal.
Re: can a BEL produce another BEL from breeding a normal??
So a mojo x lesser would produce all mojo and lessers with no chance of the 2genes pairing up like in bee's?

Jeremy as far as I know Bel has bred to a normal would yield all of what ever made it but if I'm wrong please someone correct me

I am just curious since the combo snake would carry both genes for the animals that produced it, why wouldnt there be a possiblilty of the 2 pairing up.
I dont think its possible, thats why I want to know :snake2:

I could be wrong as well, even though 2 different morphs its still a super form...wheres Randy at????

The idea behind the BEL Complex is that 2 seperate morphs are acting on the Same Allele. The reason why Bees can make more bees is because their genes act on different inheritable alleles. But because BELs act on the same one whenever the animal inherits the allele they'll only inherit 1 of the morphs that made up the BEL in the first place. :)
This applies to Super Stripes too, Super Stripes cannot be replicated by Super Stripe to Normal Breeding, so it's believed that Yellow Belly and Specters/Whirlwinds work on the same set of alleles.
Re: can a BEL produce another BEL from breeding a normal??
Couldn't have said it better.
Does any know any other complexe other than the BEL and Super Stripes ?
Re: can a BEL produce another BEL from breeding a normal??
I always thought it was so odd that there are so many different BEL complex genes that are obviously not the same mutation but act on the same allele

cinnamons/black pastels are GENERALLY accepted to be different mutations
Re: can a BEL produce another BEL from breeding a normal??
interesting, didnt even think of the super cinny!
