QUESTION: Protruding scales?
I have recently just purchased an CB '08 male Albino Burmese (currently approximately 3' in length) about a month ago, and would like to please request some advice as to whether or not he needs to be examined by a veterinarian for treatment etc. or not...
I've noticed that, located around the upper parts of his body, he seems to have a few scales that tend to noticeably stick out, and he seems to have what appears to be fine vertical lines also along these parts, where these scales seem to project themselves outwards. The rest of his body, however, appears to be in fine condition, and the rest of his scales are soft, smooth and well hydrated (as seen in picture 3). I was wondering if this is permanent damage/scarring :(, or if this is a condition which can possibly be altered and treated?
He has shed successfully, in one whole piece (eye caps included) since I have received him, and is eating well, but I did notice these protruding scales before the shedding process, and cannot notice any changes in their appearance after either... :weirdface
Here are some photographs, if it will help to see some visual evidence...

Many thanks for reading! Any input or information will be greatly appreciated! :)
Re: QUESTION: Protruding scales?
Actually my snakes get them from being coiled up. You can see it alot clearer on the adults. From what I can tell in the picture its nothing to worry about. Just from where hes been curled up.

Thanks for your reply! I was just wondering as I've never encountered this with any of my other snakes, or ever even seen photographs of snakes with a similar physical appearance to Saint...
Just wanted to make sure all was okay really... :)
Any other thoughts or input, guys? Keep 'em coming!
Re: QUESTION: Protruding scales?
ill try to look through my pics and find some of mine with it. If you do a google search for large constrictors. Its really easy to see on the ones that are 16 plus feet.

Thank you so much! I really would appreciate that a lot, but I don't want to inconvenience you or anything...

Re: QUESTION: Protruding scales?
I've seen that on big snakes, notably with big 'tics and burms.
Re: QUESTION: Protruding scales?
normal for biggies, esp retics and burms. the bigger they get, the more noticable it is ;)

Re: QUESTION: Protruding scales?
Looks like he caught his scales on something when he was moving around-nothing to worry about. They can catch them when you pull them out of the cage or put them back in.
