I've got two poss het pied females with walnut sized follicles that's great news right yes. Here's the problem Mr.het pied hasn't sealed the deal, every time I check he's close but no cigar. I don't know what to do I'm thinking he hasn't done anything with them both. If this were to happen to you breeders what would you do? Take advantage of these girls with another mutation or just wait it out.

    Hey Emilio!

Walnut-sized follicles are pretty late-stage, past the best time for the best fertilization rate. Once I feel gobstopper sized follicles, I call the pairing done for the year and focus the males efforts elsewhere. Are you sure you've have no locks? I'd keep plugging away with the same male either way. How long has he been courting them?

Glad to hear you have some animals breeding this year!

That is how they lock. They don't extend both hemipens at the same time to lock. (At least i've never seen it).

I have noticed what Raul has with young males -- short locks 12 hours and less.
