There is at least one thread on this. I called the guy and talked to him and he was not pleased at hearing from a ton of us about these mistakes.

I've tried to get in touch with Jim Lord, the assumed photographer of the BP picture but no such luck.

personally I dont think they are trying to target the audience that knows the difference between a yellow and green anaconda.

Fear looks to be their soul motivation. unfortunately, it works! Even though on a completely different scale will we look back 20 years from Today and say something about hr669? We will be talking about 9/11 for our lives! These people are terrorist (term used loosely here) by striking fear into the selfish people of the US (those who know they hate snakes ,and won't listen that their great grand kids might not. They are taking that right away from them.) It's an effective tactic.

I think the odds are that this Bill will pass.............

There is a lot of lobbyist "muscle" behind this Bill - a lot of money and a lot of influence.

In the current "green" environment and with the bad press exotic animals consistently get, it's an uphill battle at best. This is a Bill that feeds on our bad press, fear and doing the right thing by the environment.

Who cares if they represent a burmese python with a picture of a ball python or a green anaconda with a picture of a yellow? Seriously, do you think that really matters to the people voting on this thing?

Something very similar just passed in Connecticut. The same backers will be trying their luck in other States if the Federal legislation fails. I see that the thread on the Connecticut is fading fast..............anybody check what's brewing in their home state? Anyone thinking of ways that you can support USARK and PIJAC in helping the reptile owners of Connecticut?

So while you're scoffing at the errors in their stupid flyer, they are making head way and preparing more legislation to threaten your right to own exotic pets.

Some of the concerns that the people on the other side of the aisle have are valid (with the exception of PETA). This community better be prepared to address these valid concerns sooner than later. Even opponents of HR669 and similar legislation feel that some sort of regulation is needed. Wouldn't it be nice if we could stop spending our time and energy fighting each other and find some common ground to agree on?

The key here is to educate the public. We might see it as stupid, but we are in the minority. We have to get out there and FIGHT! Don't laugh at their mistakes, EXPLOIT THEM!!! Call your tv satation and tell them what you think. Make those calls. This is SERIOUS. Our time is short. If we don't ALL work togeather they WILL get it passed. Look at CA they now have a MANDITORY spay and neuter! Who would have thought? People always think "It won't happen to me (us, my hobby, etc). WE CAN fight this but we have to act NOW. Just us "snake" people cant do it alone, we need ALL animals lovers, fish, hampsters, birds, and all those other critters to come togeather and show we will not quietly go into the night. We WILL stand and fight.

Even green anacondas. I've heard the stories of 30 footers originating from the early 1900s, but no substantiated claims of huge anacondas beyond the mid 20s.

The process goes through many stages of discussion/voting etc. I'm not 100% versed in all the committees it will traverse before being signed into law.

One of the days it comes up for discussion is the 23rd.
