Coastal Carpet Python vs. Hogg Island Boa
I'm stuck, I love both snakes but I don't know which one to get next. I like different stuff about each.

    What do you all think?

I would love to hear past experiences with each. That would probably be helpful.

I voted hogg island boa, since IMO their very pretty. Also because the ones i've seen had excellent temperment, not sure about the coastal carpet pythons temperment.

Hog Island Boas - Beautiful, great temperament, manageable size.

I would vote both. And if you end up not liking one of the two as much, you can send it to me. :D

Seriously, just do more research on them. Also, handling one of each species may help you make a decision as well.

I've recently decided to get a coastal carpet python so that's what I voted.. more voting for myself than what would fit you specifically, both are great snakes.

You know I considered both when getting my (Jungle) carpet python. I went for the Morelia though. They have something about them that boas just don't have... something mysterious...

I voted coastal, but Im also on a carpet high after getting another one. I just love the look of carpets. Babies seem to be a little nippy at times, but my adult male is the sweetest boy.

Ooh that's a tough one.... I honestly can't decide, they are both awesome! I'm a bit more of a python person, I guess....

I voted coastal as well, as I love carpet pythons. Don't forget the cool morph possibilities with a coastal as well: jaguar, tiger, hypo, etc. They are a nice size, not too big and not too small. In the end, get whatever floats your boat more.

Got myself some JCP over boas as well but seems like the trouble with the temperament is making me reconsider my choice.

I love snakes with a little.. "personality" :D

If my new carpet still huffs and puffs and hisses after her settle-down week is up I'm going to get a good vid of her doing it, so I can remember it after she grows up and becomes more confident.

:gj:Coastal Carpets are really cool snakes, and I'm more of a python person. Boas are cool, but I'm not really into them. I've never owned a Coastal Carpet but I heard they make wonderful pets.:gj:

Even though I would take a python over a boa almost any day, I would have to go with the Hoggy Boa. I mean, dude, Cream color with stippling pattern with orange saddles going down its tail compared to a black and mustard yellow color (don't judge me, I ain't an artist!) from a coastal, I would go with the first choice. I mean dude, Hogg Islands change color during the day and night, and that is awesome!
