Very nice! Albinos are one of my favs. You just dont get the same response from non-snake people like you do with an albino.

One thing how hard is it to tell if albinos are in shed. i think she may be entering it but i may have to watch her color rather than eyes.

Shes eating live mice and will get her eating f.t then move her to rats Fingers X

She will feel less "soft n silky" when shedding.

Nice Albino! I got an albino male about a month and a half ago at around 160 grams and have not seen him shed yet....thought thats alittle weird.

Also recently bought two albino hets from BHB that they said were eating live mice and first feeding offered frozen rat pups and both took with no hesitation.

you may also be able to tell when she fades a little but that is mainly when they are small as they often(but not always) fade a bit as adults

When they shed, they get dull and turn pink :)

when breeding her to my male spider the outcome will be this right, Spiders, albino spiders, albinos and Het albinos. What i can never figure out is how to i figure out the percentage of Het is in each one thats not a visual morph.

Hmm... you should get

50% spiders het albino.

50% het albino

So each normal produced will be het albino 50%. did i get that right and all spiders will be het albino 50%

Unless your spider is het albino the offspring from breeding your albino to your spider will be half spiders and half normal looking - all of them 100% het albino. :)

So no albino's or spider albinos.

When ever you are breeding a visual recessive morph all offspring will be 100% Het for that morph. Ex- Albino x Normal = 100% het for albino
The same applies if you replaced the normal with a spider all(norm or spider) would be 100% het. Its when you get into het to het(66%) or het to non het(50%) that you get lower percentages.Hope this helps!

good point connie,just yesterday a young lady picked up a black milk from me and brought her mother with her.the mom was nervous to say the least,she backed up when she saw a BP move in the rack so i pulled out my little albino BP guy and showed her,once see looked at him she actually moved closer and remarked how beautiful he was.the beauty of the snake calmed her fears.

It might help if you think of each parent giving half of each gene pair.

With the spider hets are visual so you can see it with only one half of the gene being spider.

But with the albino only homozygous are visual so both parents would need to be able to pass on an albino gene for you to get visible morphs.

Since you only have one snake in that pairing that can pass on the albino gene then that would be impossible.

Does that explain it any better?

Thanks all shes been doing is hiding under newspaper since she figured out how to get under it.

Cant wait to hold her again. Just hope i can get her off live. since shes been eating live her whole life. figure do some tough love and make her hungry.

i decided to down size her to a 6qt tub to help keep her more secure feeling and to help her feeding response increase and maybe help switching over to f/t. i do have some live rats i may try on her to see if shell take a weaner on her feed day.

yes i do have a rack but shes in a diff rack right now being shesi n 6qt tub.

last i knew Brian said she was 245grams. Might be more but ill weigh her after i get some feedings in her dont wanna bother her.

ohhhh she is beautiful tho. i emailed brian like a month ago and he said he didnt have any albinos :( i was lied to lol

nope not lied to he didnt have em i had her on hold thats why. he is sold out till this summer hatchlings.
