    Too big...

Why not go to the dollar store and get some small cereal bowls(dark plastic) and cut an entrance hole. Easy to clean and the snake will like them.

I think it might have been wise to have this all figured out before you had the snake..

Just go get two SMALL bowls, or plastic flower pot SAUCERS(the bowl the planter pot sits in), cut small holes in the side and turn upside down.

For babies, get 4-6" diameter bowls/saucers.

We tried several different types of hides with our snake and found the one that he was most secure in was the terra cotta saucers. I painted mine so they didnt look too bad in my glass tank. He had a small cereal bowl but when he would go in it the bowl would lift off the ground and his bottom half would be exposed... I guess he outgrew that one. In his hide now he rearranges the substrate to make a nice burrow under the saucer.

One big enough or small enough for your snake to fit in. Just guess. If shes a baby get a small one. If she's a big girl, get her a bigger one.

Mine is three and a half feet and she's a hefty girl but she squishes herself into an 8inch terra-cotta pot bottom very well! Snug fit, but she likes it.

You've only had your snake a day or two. It's probably still stressed out and exploring it's enclosure.

Didn't you just get your snake 2 days ago? They don't start using hides until about a week has passed. Once they start using their hides regularly, that is how you know they are comfortable.

Slow down there cowboy. Please read what people have to say in these threads. You keep asking questions that have already been answered in either previous threads you have started or the exact same thread. You have the ability to look back on old threads and re-read them. We shouldn't have to spoon feed you every tiny detail, no offense.

I just got my snake two days ago and I am just letting him be. I am not even going to attmept to handle him at this point. If you leave her be, she will settle in just fine. My boy has already begun using his hides. Please read over the other posts as was already mentioned.

Don't worry, it is completely normal to be paranoid as can be with a new snake. Everything you need to know to ease your paranoia or to answer your questions is right here.

I agree with all who are trying to help with advice. I understand that Michael is a bit paranoid. If that leads to great care of his baby, well then a little paranoid is okay!!!

I was very paranoid when I brought my BP home two years ago, even though the dealer said "they are a piece of cake, just get a good aquarium, one heat pad, a humidity & temp guage, a water bowl, piece of wood (shedding) and a half log hide." As many have found out, that is not all there is too it. Over the last two years I have learned a little bit by trial & error. Over the last few weeks I have learned a TON using this site. As a result of BP.Net, I totally revamped my enclosure, and although I think she was happy before, I am sure of it now. Am I a bit paranoid still? I guess so. Every time I walk by her room I check the two temps and humidity. I document everything, but I am a documenter.....

I have found my BP to be very forgiving of my mistakes (although my Vet tried to kill her, long story, long thread). She has recovered fully and seems content in her two hides, fake tree and large branch I have for her to climb on.
