Unintentional or Intentional Mistake?
I happened to find the linked PDF brochure (below) supporting HR669 on the website for the National Environmental Coalition on Invasive Species.
If anyone still has ANY doubts that snakes such as Ball Pythons will be targeted by HR669, just take a look at the picture on page 2-3! An unintentional or intentional mistake? Either way this is dangerous!!!
If we spread the word about this brochure in the Ball Python community it will whip-up those stragglers that have only 1 or 2 snakes and think that HR669 is 'no big deal'.
Any good soldier will tell you that you have to know your enemy if you're going to fight successfully!

Re: Unintentional or Intentional Mistake?
I called the guy today. He got very defensive, but said that he'd have to look into it. He seemed rather irritated by my even calling him. Good. I also asked about the bill. He said I was very misinformed. I told him he was full of it, that he didn't even read the bill.

Ha! Great job! :salute:
I may just have to call him myself. :devilish:

I emailed the contact and made them aware of the error as well, took the opportunity to give him some "real" facts about ball pythons too.

Re: Unintentional or Intentional Mistake?
We want rid of the evil invasive species!!!!! (okay so we can't with all our experts even accurately identify a species but heck we want rid of them!!!!!) :taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz:
How bloody ridiculous is that! Thanks to those members that caught this and have notified the publishers of this that they mis-identified a ball python as a burmese python.

Hmmm...I emailed him and I wasn't rude (OK, maybe a teeny-tiny bit) and he never responded back to me. ;)
I was also wondering whether he actually got permission to use those photos...the BP one was an AP image...don't you have to pay to use their stuff? Isn't the artist that made that Obama poster getting sued by the AP for using one of their images without permission?
Maybe another 'lil email is in store... :D
Re: Unintentional or Intentional Mistake?
I called him, he was not very happy.
I told him that i was a college student who was concerned about an error on the poster, he DEMANDED to know my college and my major (neither of which had any pertinence to the conversation). I was extremely polite, told him of the error and why we in the reptile community like to see things like this get fixed because we don't want the public getting the wrong information. He told me he was aware of the rror and would speak to the editing department about fixing it in the next publication (...) I thanked him for his time and hung up.
Not a nice fella.. I dont think he's to happy that someone has actually noticed their cleverly disguised "mistake."
