Manchester Reptile Expo-- I remembered my camera!
It was fun. I brought my youngest daughter and we trekked around and looked at everything. She really loved the corn snakes and asked for one of her own for her birthday next year. :D SO fun to have kiddoes who enjoy snakes like I do. Here are some of the pix:
My daughter totally happy with a corn snake:

Was a great expo. Brought my wife, and brother. Brother got his first snake and fell inlove with a Super Pastel. Wife and I bought a nice high contrast albino. ( That both she AND my brother initially wanted haha ). Was alot of fun.

If beardies are not the presidents of anything, well they should be.
Congrats on Anna, and het reds are a great snake to have in any collection.
Nice pics, thanks for sharing.

Re: Manchester Reptile Expo-- I remembered my camera!
Ohh, I saw those crabs while I was in Costa Rica. They are pretty cool.

Re: Manchester Reptile Expo-- I remembered my camera!
I have no idea what that gecko was but there was a mini version of him going for $400. I like those geckos. They look like rock formations.
It was really fun going through this expo from my nine year old's perspective. Looking at stuff I normally pass by (tarantulas, for instance, and crazy crabs and wonderful odd colorful things) and trying to be sure she got a clear view of stuff. IT was slow going but really nice.

Pretty sure the big mossy-lookin' gecko is a Leachianus. They're way cool!
That blotchy, black and orange and green iguana is among the coolest I've ever seen!

Re: Manchester Reptile Expo-- I remembered my camera!
yeah the show was nice...but if you're a serious buyer I wouldn' recomend it! I kept going from vendor to vendor trying to compare prices on morphs but you could't see anything! I love kids and all and families but when you're trying to look at stuff from a hobbyest/breeder's perspective...it can be annoying!...you're trying to look at stuff with the intention of finding something to add to your collection and there's a bunch of ppl hovering around the table sayin
"ooh...look at that pretty snake" without havin a clue as to what they're lookin at and you wait and wait cuz you're an actual potential buyer...
I don't really know what to think about shows..I like them but also dislike them...they should be for true hobbyist only
if families want to take their kids to gawk at animals...bring them to the zoo!!!

Re: Manchester Reptile Expo-- I remembered my camera!
I think that shows are a great way for children to be exposed to many different types of animals. It does kind of stink when you have to wait to get a look at something you might be looking to add to your collection. I saw a kid leaving with his parents with a new gecko and he was so excited....I don't think i'd trade that off for shorter lines.

I think if you're a serious buyer, you'll be patient. ;)
Plus, my daughter, who is nine, was there, and she had to wait behind big adults who didn't move for her turn to see things. And she will be a serious buyer for sure. She is already a herp girl.

yeah you guys are right! when my daughter gets older I can't wait to take her
to the shows. I know to expect it to be crowded I just need to be more patient!....but one thing is for sure...I'll never like shopping in crowded stores during the holydays! :D

Re: Manchester Reptile Expo-- I remembered my camera!
Great pics. I really missed a lot of things at the show.
I could only stay for about an hour so I made a quick pass by as many tables as I could before picking up the hondo that I had planned on getting.
Maybe next time I'll actually spend some more time and try to see everything.

I had planned to go, but with the weather and the fact I was only after feeders, I decided to stay home :(
