New Girl... not in the best of shape.
    Hi all.

I picked up this sweet thing last week. She is a 7-8 year old female. Very small for her age.

As the pics will show, she is scarred and in rough shape. She has rat bites the length of her body, including her spine. As well as scars from escaping a sceen top enclosure, and burns from an unregulated heating pad.

RI, mouthrot, and stuck eyecaps.... just for fun.

The worst part is her tongue has been *shredded*... it does not have forks, just split flesh and is about half of what it should be. Looks like it was chewed off.

But she is a BP and as such is the sweetest tempered snake I have met in a few hours... :P

She does not have a name quite yet... so far I think I have only addressed her as "Sweetles"... :D

I think she will do fine. Just needs a bit of TLC (AKA vet care) and she'll be good.

She took a tasty ASF and seems to be digging that action, so we are good to go. She only speaks French so we are limiting ourselves to the basics.

    "Souris pour vous?"

    "Salut Sweetles!"

    "Bonjour mon amie."

    Thanks for looking.

    Bruce

That poor girl! Glad she is in good hands now. It's pretty amazing how a bp with such a crappy past can still be a sweetheart.

It's always nice to see an abused animal find a good home especially when they have a sweet personality despite the abuse. Keep us updated on her condition.

She is an absolute love this one. I think she will be a nice little lap snake when her time comes. :)

She was on Kijiji... I have been following her progress for close to a year.

She is engaged and attentive, so that is 90% of the battle. I think she will be an easy rehabilatation.

And updates are always mandatory. :)

Be sure to ask your vet if there is anything you can do to help her with the scars on her back.
Also IF you are planning on breeding, please ask the advisability due to her scarring.

She is a huge and pretty girl though

Bruce you know what I said through Pm. But understand she is a happy girl with you.
I know how frustrating it is. You and some of the mods know I could vent for hours on abuse. Just horrific, Just like your girl. I am so happy she found her way to you. She is better off. Just let her live her life out in "sanctuary". Sometimes enough is enough for these gorgeous creatures.
It is always hard not to "take action" against the perpetrators. But there is a time and place as I've learned. (through legislative measures).
    You're doing a great job

most animals are wonderful about that, they were put through so much abuse at the hands of humans, and are still sweet as pie. thats why i mostly prefer animals INSTEAD of humans. but it could also be why ive got cabin fever hahaha
i know you dont need luck. im glad she's with you and gets to live the good life now. :D :gj:

Good gosh, this girl seems to have had a pretty hard time, good to know she is in good (I hope so, but at least artistic) hands right now... I really appreciate people who care for poor creatures like that... This way I really got close to my cousin, who cared for game dogs (confiscated by the cops, straight from the pit)

A little update, Missy has been motivated to help and has been dumping eyecaps for me. I found one stuck to her water dish this morning.

She seems to be very industrious and is motivated to help out... I can appreciate that in a snake.

And I consulted with Laooda... and Sweetles now has a name. :D

She will be wearing a sticker that says "HELLO MY NAME IS: Georgina" from this point on. I needed to ask before I stole the name.

Georgie Girl thanks you all for the well wishes on her recovery and we do not doubt she will make a 100% recovery. ASFs do a girl good at Chez Lezard. :)

Poor thing! It disgusts me that someone could be so neglectful to such a beautiful girl! What a great person you are to dedicate your time and energy to helping her out! I hope she is able to fully recover and live the rest of her life as happy as can be! :D

Just a quick update. Georgie Girl pulled off her first shed with me.

A perfect sock shed. Supposedly she has not had one of those in over two years.

I may examine it later and see what the scarring looks like in the shed and post pics.

I unravelled the shed last night, and it is interesting how they show up in it.

Just looks like another scale, but they are fused into one large scale. Not sure what I expected it to looks like, but when I got Magda he shed in pieces for a year till his wounds healed.

Perhaps his were still fresh, and he had big gaps where the flesh had not closed yet from his burns.

But yeah, she looks good (as good as she can). I will take a better look at her eyes tongith and see how we are doing for the caps. She has dropped some her first week, and her shed was a perfect head piece... so that could be a good sign.
