    12 hours and counting
12 hours, that's how long I have made it without a cigarette. This nicotine patch is making me sick and feel funny, but I have not smoked!

In 20 years of smoking and countless times trying to quit, I have never even made it this long. I know it is going to be hard, but this time I can do it (even though I would just about kill for one right now :please: )

Hmmm maybe the money I save by not smoking can fuel my other addiction, more snakes!!!

Good luck and remember you can do it ;). I quit almost 4 years ago after smoking for 16 years and it is one of the best thing I ever done.

Quitting was one of the best things I ever did. Think about how much healthier you will be and how much money you will save. Things will taste better, smell better, and you will feel so much different overall once you get past the physiological cravings. After that, it's just a mental game to prevent yourself from relapsing, but it gets easier and easier with time.

Congrats! I'll be jumping on the wagon also. I'm sure I'll need a padded room for at least a week.

I need to quit too. Maybe one day we can start a BP net stop smoking group. :)

If you think the patch is making you feel funny now, wait'll you get some of those vivid acid dreams.

I quit a few years ago using the patch, after I smoked for about 15 years. And it was totally worth it. The extra cash feeds the scaly addiction now.

Hang in there, you can do it!

Good time to quit hon considering the big increase in tobacco taxation that went into effect yesterday.

I'd love to quit myself but my husband has requested I do so after being dumped on a deserted island where I can do no harm to any living soul stupid enough to speak to me when I am having a nic fit. I've no idea why that man says these things about me.

I hope it's going well for you and I'm so happy you're doing this for yourself and for your family. :)

Keep it up, I smoked for 30 years before I was finally able to kick the habit. Remember, it doesn't matter how many times you try, you only need to succeed once.

If the patch is making you feel sick, it might be too strong. You can cut them in half with a scissors and see how half a patch makes you feel then.

Three days! At least I have heard it takes 3 days before you realize you can actually do this.

I quit a while back, although I was more of a social smoker, out of sight, out of mind for me.

Jo, trust me, if I can do this you can do this! I said the same things that your hubby said. I told everyone I knew not to talk to me this week even! I can tell you that with the patch, it is NO WHERE near as bad as it would be cold turkey. I have tried that several times and never even made it to hour 2.
And the newest taxes are part of why I decided to quit now, I just can't spend $6 a pack. I refuse

(*whispers* hey Adam, I'm gonna have more snaaaake money this summer!!)
