It's been awhile - HALO updated pic!

I realized while I was in the room yesterday evening taking some pics for ID records and the website, that I haven't taken any pics of Halo in awhile. For those that don't know the story, a simple search will bring up quite a few threads. An old member here received a female that was gravid from a pet owner that kept a pair of Ball Pythons. The male was already gone, and untraceable by the time the eggs hatched. Out of eight eggs, four hatched. Halo was the most extreme, and her three sisters looked different as well, but not as extreme. The four eggs that didn't hatch had 4 (FEMALES) that looked like Halo. So eight eggs, and eight females. The snake that laid the eggs now resides at VPI. I have Halo and two of her sisters. The remaining sister went to another forum member, and has since died. The sisters that I got have been good feeders, but they will not eat appropriate sized prey, and only eat very small meals. Therfore, although they are 3 years old, they are all about 1000 grams.

Thanks for the update Tim. She is a really gorgeous snake. I absolutely LOVE her. The contrast and totally awesome pattern is just wonderful. I hope she makes some babies for you soon. Has the original mother produced any other clutches that you know of?

WOW!! Now I'm not one for busy patterned bp's but her pattern is so unique I just love it. here's to hoping you get many babies that look like her.

I do plan to breed her when she gets to an appropriate size. The guy that hatched her, when asked, said he would like to see her bred to a Pastel. So my thoughts are to breed her to something with Pastel in it.

To the best of my knowledge, she hasn't, but that will be a good question to ask Tracy next time I talk to her.

To everyone else, thanks for the replies. She is one of my favorites in the collection, but I do expect her to prove to be a Normal Ball that just looks wild.

Don't worry Becky, if I ever produce anything cool from the project, I will replace your K. Thanks for the pics of her, I almost forgot what she looked like. She more closely resembles tigerlily in the pattern department. I guess I need to go get some pics of the other 2 sisters now.

I missed this when it was posted. I remember thinking Halo was neat when I first saw pics of her. She is turning into a beautiful and very interesting snake! Too bad she and her sisters won't grow any faster for you. I'll be looking forward to when they finally breed to see if anything interesting pops out!

Its always nice to know that there are plenty of random occuring patterns and color morphs still lurking out there and that any random pickup or dinker could be the next cool morph! :gj:

I was kind of surprised to see this thread resurrected again. However, I am glad to see thast a few more people could enjoy the eye candy. Halo has unfortunately quit eating on me again. She is one of the most stubborn girls I own. However, it looks like one of her sisters should be breeding this upcoming season.

Very nice, I have a Het Albino that looks much like her.

Good gawd that snake is absolutely gorgeous. I hope they start eating better for you and get big enough to give you some babies and figure out what's going on there!!! I want one of those. Looks like a leopard or jaguar.
