My setup
Hi, I'm new here. I just got my first ever baby ball python Wednesday and though I researched everything I need to know before I got it, I keep finding other advantages on taking care of them and I feel so confused and I feel like I don't know what will be best. I heard babies are very shy and usually hide all the time and barely go out whenever they need to drink or whatever. But, I get paranoid often having restless days and nights knowing that my baby may or may not be happy. I often waste a lot of money trying to find whatever is suitable for him. Please go easy on me, I always wanted a snake since I was 8. I love him very much, he's too cute and I want him to have the best life possible..
I recently sprayed it so you can see water droplets on the inside. I'm also having trouble maintaining humidity and I can't find Sphagnum anywhere. I tried Petsmart, Lowes, Target even Wal-mart. Still nothing...
So, If you see anything wrong, please tell me and I'll get it just for him..
(P.S. On the lid, I have Glad press and seal, which I heard works well.)

Re: My setup
:welcome: Does swampland mean you are in Fl? You could trade the strap downs in for a couple 5# weights, so as not to block you view :). Your Viv looks nice.

Your set up looks good! There are screen clamps that you could look into as well, I think they're about $5 or so.
It's obvious that you've done A LOT of reasearch in keeping your new snake!
Good luck with him!
What's his name?

His name is Pennyworth. Like Alfred Pennyworth, Batman's butler. :P

Yeah, it's accurate. I used a therm/hydro that has a wire attached to put the sensor in the tank, so I think there is no need to put it in the enclosure.

Is it only the 1 sensor? If so that's the one that reads the outside temperature. The unit itself reads the humidity.

Re: My setup
Haha, yeah that is where your humidity problem is coming from!
The Unit measures the indoor temp and the humidity. You really only need one. Just put the unit on the cool side and the probe on the warm side on the glass right above the UTH.
Other then that, great viv setup!

Re: My setup
Well, now the humidity is too high, It's around 80 90! Should I replace it? Or just wait? I'm so worried. I'm such an idiot..

Re: My setup

Not an idiot at all. I did pretty much the same thing when I first bought my Accurite (came with no instructions)

It shouldn't take more than a couple hours. He'll be fine for now.
