Sugargliders had a BABY! PICS!
Well I got pretty lucky. I just got a pair of Sugargliders, and too my amazment I noticed the mom hiding alot more than the dad. Sure enough beneath her was a baby joey! Just today they have been allowing their offspring to roam around....sometimes. I LOVE these guys...awesome pets if anybody is curious.
mom and dad pwere playing with the wheel and in a blink of an eye the baby comes flying out of the wheel holding on for dear life!

Soooo cute! My girlfriend really love these little guys. Are you planning on keeping the joey?
Re: Sugargliders had a BABY! PICS!
OH MY! I am very very upset. I just got home and the baby Joey is dead! :( :( :( I guess I don't have him up for adoption anymore. Sorry...

In the future I would take the wheel out. Wheels and babies = death.
Re: Sugargliders had a BABY! PICS!
Sorry about the baby, that's sad. They are super cool animals though.
Re: Sugargliders had a BABY! PICS!
Sorry to hear, those are cute little boogers.
Re: Sugargliders had a BABY! PICS!
Wow!
Sorry to hear that man.
Just FYI in the future if she happens to drop more joeys,i would put her and the baby gently (Wear Gloves!) in a seperate cage in a nice quiet room with only a sleeping blanket on the bottom of the cage with of course food and water for her.
Or remove the male from the enclosure and put him in a different cage.
This way there is less likly the chance of any mishaps and she can concentrate on just feeding the babe without being disturbed by the male or any human presence.
Obviously check on them from time to time.
Just giving friendly advice for you.
:)
In any case that really sucks, but i am sure she will have more to come.
Re: Sugargliders had a BABY! PICS!
This is an older post but just in case...it is always a bad idea to remove the male. Males are major caregivers and without the male the mother is much more likely to reject the joey (one less parent, separating leads to a lot of stress, no time to herself).
Im sorry about your loss, losing babies always sucks.
