    he is a she...
i found the rat BASTARD that left seymore to die.. so here is his story...

the snake is a three year old female who is missing half her teeth (i know rediculous) and is impossible to feed. he was giving her one small f/t mouse every week when she would take it...which wasn't very often. he got her from a friend who he wont give me the name of, so i really dont know much about this snake.

since i have had the snake she eats like a champ! but only live prey, so i guess she doesn't have a drive for f/t, as i cant convince her to eat anything that isn't "squeeking".

Soo since i thought this BP was a male i let my daughter name it Seymore. Any suggestions for unnisex names? seeing as i dont exactly have the time to get "her" sexed at the moment. (nearest place willing to do it for me is a very LONG drive from here) I just don't feel right letting it go without a name...

I would go with Pat. There are of course some other good ones out there, but I'd go with Pat.

I see you live in Mtl too? :P

My first thought was Pat as well.

But I have a female Jeff (named her when she pipped) and a male Magda... so I can not be trusted to name snakes (or sex rats it seems - according to Peter Parker when he dropped his litter of 15 pinks).

In the movie "Pat" do you ever really find out Pat's sex? I still don't know and it keeps me up at night.

I wouldn't worry. First.. the snake doesn't have a preconceived notion as to gender-specific names. And second, it's not going to come when you call it anyway.
I have a male tegu named Gracie, and the female tegu named Noah. And several missexed "female" ball pythons, who now turned out to be males.. with female names. None of them seem to mind much.
Seymore is a great name.. and if it IS a girl, it's just because she's already "seen more" than most snakes have.

I went with "Rogue" when I was unsure of my resue's gender. He arrived as a she named Reina, but I was convinced he was a he so I started calling him Rogue. Everyone says it's a girls name from X-men but to me it's the male singer of the Cruxshadows :)

I just really like the name too.

Since then I've found a sperm plug in his cage and had him sexed by the vet just to be sure. Rogue is indeed a boy.

Or you could call him/her Nicco! That goes both ways as well. I've met a guy named Nicco and I had a male cat named Nicco, but it's also the name of the chick from the Velvet Underground.

    Good luck
