    First Baby Ball!
Hello, I'm new to BP.net and BPs in general. I've done my research first, and I got my 4 m.o. baby yesterday. His name's Murray. Here's a picture of him:

I think he's a normal, though I'm not experienced enough to know for sure. Can anyone tell me?

Thanks for the warm welcomes. :)

He's a healthy little guy, that's for sure. I did my homework and got him from a breeder. I asked lots of questions, too. I feel so bad for one I saw at my local PetSmart, though. The poor thing was very skinny and had a triangular shaped body, instead of round. :(

    I second this.

Momma, you've done great. He looks healthy and that's a great start. -Grins.- I love his little "mustache." The normal balls are so very unique in their own right.

Congratulations on your new addiction, if you've never done crack before.. I hope you're ready.

I would also like to give you a high five for doing your research ahead of time and ensuring that you got yourself a healthy baby from a breeder, very admirable.

Thanks Slim and others. I appreciate it. :) I couldn't imagine getting involved in something like owning a snake and not doing research first. Don't know what some people are thinking! :rolleye2:

Very nice looking fellow. Just a small thing but do check that opening of his hide. It looks, though it just could be the picture, as if the plastic may be pretty jagged for him. Personally I like to use a small soldering wand to make my plastic hide openings. It tends to leave a slightly melted and non-jagged edge. (That reminds me I need to go buy that hot knife tip for my soldering wand!)

Sad those poor chain store snakes but you made the right decision to not support those stores and to get a nice healthy baby bp. Good for you!

Some of them just aren't and unfortunately that is hard for them and hard for the snake. Happily this site is able to help some of them.

Btw I love the name you picked for him! :)

Thanks. :) For his water hide, I melted the cut edges so it won't hurt him. I think I need to do it again, though, so it's a bit smoother. Today and tomorrow I'll be spiffing up his cage. :)
