Exactly. Time to call the vet.

    Ok, total nube question.
Can you soak these females? or would that harm the eggs? Would it help anything if you did soak them?
I know when I don't see stool as soon as I'd like I soak them at night and the next morning, there it is!
I know, 2 completely different systems...

    Soaking won't do anything.
If she is eggbound, the last egg needs to be destroyed to hopefully allow the rest to pass.

I thought a lot of people aspirate the last egg at home. Or would that be first egg? It seems like if the egg is right there, it would not be hard to do.

I've also seen on corn snake forums people talking about massaging the egg out.

Any particular reason you are going straight to the vet instead of trying something at home first?

I am NOT trying to recommend anything here. I have absolutely no experience and am not even close to qualified to do so. Just trying to stimulate discussion so we can all learn.

Never had to deal with it so I would rather leave it to the vet to decide to try and manipulate out or aspirate the egg nearest the vent.

I have heard 60 days before, have you come up with a deadline? Whats the longest you have heard? I know a few folks have chimed in. Has to be a lil nerve racking.

Best of luck with her, I think she just wants to set a record/test your patience, better be some big friggin eggs!

    Steve,
Looking at the picture, I would think that she has not ovulated yet. Her spine doesn't look as pronounced as most females that are carrying eggs. Are you sure you witnessed her POS? Have you palpated lately, and felt follicles or eggs (softer than eggs)? I am not trying to question your experience level, but just commenting on something that I did my first season. I had a female that was 100 days POS, but when I got her ultrasounded, there were no eggs, just big follicles that she never laid.

    Good luck with her.

I am going crazy on day 36, and all this talk is making me more paranoid than i was last year, at what day do normal people start getting paranoid? Been following these threads and it has kept my sanity levels up some, but also have me over thinking everything too.

I saw OV on her and recently palpated and felt large follicles. Not hard like eggs though. She has been off feed since shed and she was a GREAT eater prior. I also noticed she doesn't have the ridgeback and is not sitting in a "normal" coil like I would expect to see.
This season is going bad. 6 duds from one and now this.
Last year was MUCH better. :D

Steve, when palpating, eggs aren't hard. They feel like stale marshmallows a bit. I'm betting you saw building and not the actual ovy.

    Steve,
As Becky stated, if you felt anything hard at all, it is either a follicle or a slug. Eggs should feel very squishy, and you really have to concentrate to feel the seperation between eggs. My guess would still be that she will ovulate in the next 2-4 weeks (however, I have had females hold large, 26-35mm follicles, for up to 3 months before ovulating).

    Hope that helps,
