    For tigerlily...

This is the area that you are looking at under the microscope (outlined in red, located between the top two book lungs). This is my red knee molt (since this molt was bigger it was eaiser to show you stuff then on my chaco molt, the same principles apply with both molts though).
In bigger females the flap can be seen with the naked eye (like on this one). In small females you cant see the flap (but you can still see the lady parts on the molt under the microscope.
The two antenna looking things (spermathecae) on my chaco molt seen under the microscope means it's female. Only the females have the antenna looking things (spermathecae). In males there will be no flap/spermathecae (so on the red knee, the flap outlined in red would not be there if this was a male, and under the microscope the antenna looking things (spermathecae) would not be there if it was male).
Hope this helps a little and i didn't confuse you. I wish I had a male molt to put beside it to show you for comparison but I don't have one. Any more questions just let me know!!! :D

I claim this thead! It's mine, all mine! :giggle:

Thanks. I think I followed that. Flap = female. No flap = male. Well the only thing I got a teensy bit confused on is the antennae thingys, but I'm special. I'm sure I'll figure it out.

That is a great picture though! I appreciate the very good visual! :gj:

    Re: For tigerlily...
Okay, I confused everyone about the lady parts :D Hmmm, on a tarantula the lady parts are not all the same. On the red knee they look like what I outlined in red. On the chaco it looks like antenna. All females have the flap. This is a link to where someone made drawings of different tarantula lady parts. If you click the drawings they will get bigger. The last set of drawings and the one on the right shows what a chaco golden knee (G. aureostriata) look like (antenna like). While the mexican red knee lady parts look like the pics in the first set of drawings (kinda like the B. albopilosa). They are rough drawings but still helpfull IMO. So basically not all tarantula lady parts look the same but they all have the flaps :D I will post a pic of the chaco molt. I beleive you can see the flap but not the antenna looking things with the naked eye.

I must not be paying your keeper enough.... :giggle:

As for being afraid, nah not so much. I'm apparently a glutton for punishment and I just need to get the epsom salts out for all the new bruises. :P
