Need your honest opinion: Is this a Cinnamon ball python?
Need your honest opinion: Is this a Cinnimon ball python? It doesn't look like a Cinnamon to me, but what do you guys think?

The first couple pictures it appears to be a cinny, but the last one has too much black to be a cinny.

It is less obviously a normal than most of the "is this snake something" type posts. I think it would make a good dinker project. Don't think it is a cinnamon though.

Cinnies can be tough sometimes. They can vary a little bit in appearance. Here's a pic of my male cinny for comparison.

long story short, those pictures came from this guy on craigslist,

    the link is http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/pet/1084728721.html

I asked several of my friends and they all told me it's a normal with a reddish tone on it. I talked to this guy and he is 101% sure it is a 100% cinny with 100% het for pied, I have owned cinny and black pastel before, but those pictures doesn't look like a cinny to me. this is why I want you guys' opinion.

Does not look like a cinny to me. Could be a dinker. I would definitely not trust it being het for pied.

The first few photos are interesting, but I think that's mainly because of the lighting. I don't think it's a cinnamon, not really even that close. But it is an interesting looking snake... I wouldn't pay more then a hundred bucks for it if it were a female. Less if it's a male.

    'Black Pastel Phaze Cinny'? What?

Obviously the guy doesn't really know what he's talking about.. I would wager the pied talk is a stretch as well.

Def not a Cinny, here's a pic of the boy I'm getting next week for reference. :D

    Hi,

I don't think it's a cinny either - and if he is wrong about that then the het pied is unlikely to prove out either. And if neither of those holds true what are the chances it is a female?

But ask him for a nice clear shot of its belly pattern - that should be fairly conclusive I would have thought.

Oh and you might want to take a look at this thread and see if you spot anything familiar. :D

But it is a very nice looking snake so you could do a lot worse for an animal to work into other morphs etc. For the right price I'd be happy with it.

If this seller is 100% sure of anything then he has the paperwork from the breeder to prove that to you. If he bred this snake then he should have records and photo's to back up what he's asserting.

    Definitely not a cinny.

Here is a picture of mine for reference. Notice the lighter color head, black eyes, faded head stripe, the pattern, the body color.

As soon as Craig's List Guy said it was 100% het for Pied, you should have run the other direction. The guy is either a scammer, or he got scammed on this snake and is passing on bad info.

That BP is not a Cinny, none of the alien heads float, and the overall color is off.

Having said that, I do think it's a very hot little Normal, and might make an interesting project.

I have a male that is a wc and has some of the features of a cinny, but also kinda looks like a het red.

He has fathered a couple clutches for me this year and my cinny girl still looks like she is building so maybe a super? Hopefully I will know for sure what he is by mid summer.

I was thinking about buying that snake when I saw the add last Tuesday. I emailed back and forth with the owner. I have concluded that he has no idea what the snake is. I asked if he had any picks of her head or body close ups and he said no. He also said that there are two lines of cinniman and this one is from the black pastel line. He also said he sah 5 or 6 people in line for it and if I want it I should come get it now. I am over it I reald only want to make cinni bees so I can just get a normal cinniman from a breeder.
