Woot! My Very First Retic Bite! *Pics*
I knew it was going to happen eventually, just didn't think it would take this long (lol). Originally I thought my male Super Dwarf would be the first one, since he always negates the rat I offer him and goes straight for me! But no this was done by my lil girl Rocket. And there are two reasons why she did, the first reason is because today is feeding day, and the second reason is because she moved her hide from the warm side to the cool side, so I went in there to move her tub back and that is when she went all "Oooh, no you didn't!"

Now she is coiled up in the very hide box I just moved to the warm side, so hey, needless to say, mission accomplished! :D

And here is a pic of my hand after I cleaned the wound(good pic of the teeth marks.)

And what the heck, here is the lil girl that did this.

PS: When a retic bites you, even if its a Super Dwarf, they don't let go! :O

Geesh Jason don't you know once a lady has got her home set up just so, no male is safe if he dares to move a thing! Silly, silly you LOL.

So enquiring minds do want to know, how do you get a retic off your hand? :)

Her and my boa are the "bad-girls" in my collection. But I love them, even though they want to kill and eat me. :D

Oh thankyou Deb, please take her, I can't take the abuse anymore! :D lol

I swear, as soon as I touched the hide she got this look on her face as if I had committed a serious offense.

lol, Well, I supposed I just learned that the hard way. :D

I got her off by taking her to the sink, and putting her body under some luke-warm water. Soon as the water hit her she about jumped out of her skin. lol

PS: She hates water, I noticed that when I would go in to mist her tub when the humidity got alil low during the winter.

Retic teeth are always fun, I learned the hard way from an 8 footer...Human error, and yes I (shall I say we because luckily and responsibly I had someone with me) used water for the release...I moved to quick, feeding error (F/T)....
    Their teeth hurt!!!
Glad you fared well and were able to get pictures... also sounds like she was lucky and didn't have to lose any teeth which is always a good thing.
Also just want to compliment you, if I haven't yet, she is a beautiful lil tic.

    Nice...and Ouch.
I disagree, you weren't lucky, if you were you wouldn't have been bitten (so in a cense neither of us were lucky :D), just very responsible (which is actually better, in a way.) You had someone there to assist you and you did what one should do in that situation.
Not too long ago, a woman died from her 8 foot retic, because she was alone, and didn't know what to do.

lol, The first thing that came to mind when I was trying to remove her was "You lil...gasp..Get the camera!"

    Thanks

Beautiful retic, I want one but I want a dwarf species, just need to find one alot cheaper then what I seen. I would like to find one about $150 or less. I'm lucky so far, i've only been bitten once and it was by my yellow annie when i FIRST got her in, right when i was unpacking the box, and untied the sack to make sure she was ok, when I stuck my hand in the sack(human error) I pulled out a bloody thumb(which I was amazed because she was only like 15 days old. So then I just got the back of the sack and slid her onto the palm of my hand which she got my pointing finger then. So I put her in her tank and left her alone for a week, then I handled her again and shes been a sweet heart since. She's almost 6 months now, so I would hope not to get bit again esp once shes bigger.

On the other hand, I Have a 07 White Lip Python(shes about 3-3 1/2 foot) I held her when she FIRST came in and she didnt bite me, which I was really hoping she wouldn't.
