    a chocolate BP?
hey guys, i just bought this beautiful girl 2 months ago. is it just me, or is the black on this girl replaced with brown? she is my dinker project for this year but she has been doing some weird things since she arrived. she laid inverted 2 days ago, and she likes to coil under her heat mat.

before her 1st shed at my place:

after her 1st shed at my place:

does anyone have a BP that looks like this?

this is a picture of her laying inverted :

i don't think it's IBD because she can still constrict her food items. replies are greatly appreciated

She is a beautiful snake, fantastic blushing. Is there a chance she could be gravid?

She could be something cool, you'dhave to see by breeding and seeing what pops out.
Laying inverted like that is usually what gravid ball pythons do, not sure otherwise.

joe, she shed her skin this afternoon. and that picture of her laying inverted was taken a couple of weeks ago. if she is gravid, when will the eggs come? and from the full body picture, i can't see any swelling! i'm so excited because if she were to lay eggs, it would be my first clutch :D . and i already prepared an incubator if any eggs were to pop out. :salute:

anarchy : may i see your ball? because i would really love to compare them :D

She is stunning... what a great looking snake.

I know of a person that bred a pin to a "normal" and hatched out Chocolate Pins, that was how they discovered that she was indeed a lower grade Chocolate (but she threw stellar C-Pins).

    Good luck with her.

I have had a few girls lay inverted that were not gravid FYI.

thannks bruce :) . i've read about females that lay inverted a couple of times on the internet and i know it's not a sure sign that she is gravid, but if she isn't than why did she do that? i don't overfeed my snakes, and she could curl back up again if i try to roll her over on her back. i'm really confused

She may be building... even if she does not breed does not mean she may not build.

So the inversion is just her getting herself comfortable. Just a guess mind you. :)

    Addendum:

I also catch my males laying inverted on occasion... sometimes I sleep on my face, sometimes I sleep on my side or my back. :)

Hey guys, I tried to feed her this afternoon and she won't eat! Is this a good sign? Or a bad one?
